I accept no responsibility, what so ever, for the fact that I exist; I do, however, accept full responsibility for what I do while I exist.

Hello, Celtinfj. Welcome to MBTI Central. Other types aren't really welcome there anyway, no matter how intelligent they are. INTP's are very funny and intelligent individually, but in groups... well, just look at INTP Central.

What is "whimsy"? Do you mean random notions that aren't grounded in reality, or expressions of silliness?

guess I haven't gotten tired of being tested yet...but I think I'm getting there! And thank you for the welcome.

Kinda both. Playfulness. Whim is, according to Websters (this is the J in me...I have my own definitions for things and then stack them up against Websters) 1 : a capricious or eccentric and often sudden idea or turn of the mind : FANCY <quit his job on a whim>, whereas whimsical is: resulting from or characterized by whim or caprice; especially : lightly fanciful. My own definition is slightly different...expressions of silliness, definitely, but also, to me random notions that ARE grounded in reality can be whimsical as well.

I'm wracking my brain for an example. Okay, here's one. The belief that, once a day, if you're watchful, you will notice a thing of beauty. It can be either in nature or another person, and it just makes you happy and glad of it, even if it means absolutely nothing and no one else ever sees it.

    Sweet name.

    um...that's flirting, right?

I need to open a new thread about how hopelessly inept I am at that sort of thing, and if any other infj's are as bad at it as I am. I never know what to say, how to respond. I'm hopeless.

I think so, I was mostly aiming for just witty.
