Growing up in New Orleans, I found Louis Armstrong to be my favorite...

And I love Classical (Baroque) music, especially Bach. Give me some violins, cellos, and a little bit of organ and I'm in Heaven.

Well aboard, Dan. There's few Texans (transplant or otherwise) I haven't liked.

That said, there weren't any true Texans to begin withonly ones that got here as fast as they could.

Louis Armstrong has a fantastic voice, he is among my favorite jazz vocalists for sure.
baroque, huh? i never developed an appreciation for baroque. or for harpsichords... violin and cello i love though. i am more bombastic in my classical music tastes, i prefer beethoven to bach, and also like rimsky-korsakov, hector berlioz, others.

Aaah... it seems we have something in common. Bach is perhaps the only composer that can instill a genuine feeling of sanctity, of something sacred, in my hopeless atheistic heart.

I had lessons on the great organ of Saint-Sulpice (Paris), I even tried to interpret the great Passacaglia (BWV 582) there (with dubious results :rolli: ).

    This organ!

Organs are incredible instruments, so powerful.

But believe me, they don't allow the slightest mistake, a single wrong note, because it will echo in your poor ears during minutes...

Welcome to the nuthouse. When I think of Bach I think of "Toccata and Fugue in D minor" and "Fantasia and Fugue in G minor"

I also like a little Johan Strauss II, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovski, and Gustav Holst.
