    Ah. Makes sense, I suppose.

I seem to test as 4w5, though I'm not positive of my enneagram type. Since most INFJs are 4w5, I decided to go along with that.

Your website is very useful Marcello, but most descriptions just seem a bit too specific to me. Do you mind if I get back to you later about this? I'll have to read your website fully later. I am very clearly an 8 or a 9 thought, since a lot of what is said in 8 and 9 profiles makes a lot of sense. But some things are just too specific to apply to me with both of those types.

    Thanks by the way.

I relate to all of them a little bit, honestly.

But mostly 5, 6, 4 and 9. I just don't really "see" my own essence compared to that of the type well enough to feel like I know which type I am.

My hunch is 9w1 but that's just a hunch at this point. 4-5-9 are the three "withdrawn" types of the enneagram and that those three are in your top four make it a good chance you are a withdrawn type.

You not "seeing" your own essense compared to the types well enough makes me think you have a less conscious sense of self which also points to 9 over types 4 and 5 which have an especially clear vision of their essence.

Also 4w5s have a very distinguished thick coded writing style and I don't see that in your writing from the limited stuff I've seen you post.

Saying I'm a withdrawn type is a pretty safe bet.

    Seems reasonable enough...

Out of curiosity, what is a thick-coded writing style? What other kinds are there? I've never heard that expression before.

Have you ever read stuff by Sylvia Plath or Anne Sexton?(4w3 and 4w5) respectively It's not the easiest read and is the direct opposite of reading a column on espn.com

4s try to amplify their emotional experiences...hence the dramatization in their writing style so it's anything but trite.

For example...two potential lovers just missing each other might be written as "two ships sailing past each other in the dense fog in the middle of the night...*sad tears*...a truly bittersweet moment...alas it was not to be"

That's my quick best to imitate the 4ish anything-but-trite writing style and it still falls a bit short. They literally try to breathe emotion into every part of their lives.
