    Default Hello from Thailand

Having enjoyed and learned a lot from lurking around here for a few weeks, I thought I'd join the fray. I'm a Welsh/Canadian INFJ living in Thailand. I first identified my INFJness about 7 years ago; I cried when I read a description of the type online and felt truly understood for the first time in my life. Then I cried again when I realized that I had felt understood by a PAGE on the INTERNET . It was a great moment, anyway.

    Yo.

I know what you mean, I remember reading something where I said "I can't believe a website knows me better than my own mother!"

Hi, I just found out today that my mom is INFJ and the other day that my boss is also. After knowing some Infj's I think you know how to pick friends, but just maybe couldn't be as understood as well as you understand others.

Hugs and welcome to the forum.

Wow, what a welcoming place! I think I'm gonna like it here.

Thanks Jeffster - I now understand Artisans a little more thanks to your interesting thread. I know shamefully little about other types as yet.

Eiddy, I look at the trail of former friends behind me and wonder if I really can pick 'em! Usually they put me on a pedestal, which I collude in, and then I do human crap and INFJish things, like being less-than-perfectly patient, or running away into my cave, then hurtle off the pedestal and into their Once-Friends-%^it-List. Oh wait, I just proved your point.

As for Asia, nozflubber, it is FAScinating. I adore the Japanese aesthetic; the weird feeling of timelessness here and there in Korea; and am infuriated/fascinated by the whole 'face' thing in Thailand and elsewhere - how people confront things in a very roundabout way to avoid anyone's losing face. It means people often say "yes" when they mean "no" which is unnerving, but excellent intuition practice.

Aww, thanks Ruby. That makes me feel really good.

There are a lot more of the NF and NT types here, so getting to know more about those types isn't too difficult. The S types are much more scarce here (the opposite of society in general) but those of us that are here have usually tried to be as open as possible to help people understand us better.

GREETINGS MORTAL. What's this understanding you speak of? Does you get monetary benefits from this 'feeling understood'?

Cool! It's nice to have another INFJ on these forums, they are usually really cool people. Hope you enjoy!
Is it that by its indefiniteness it shadows forth the heartless voids and immensities of the universe, and thus stabs us from behind with the thought of annihilation, when beholding the white depths of the milky way?

Thanks OneWithSoul! I shall do my best to be usually, really, and cool (though I'm just emerging from an entire year battling with my Ee-vill shadow, so it may take practice).

And Costrin! I have greatly enjoyed reading your posts here and there and delighted to be greeted by you. Indeed I do receive monetary benefits from this being 'understood' malarkey, as if I'm sufficiently misunderstood in my workplace I tend to quit.
