Thank you (I don't usually use smilies but there are some great ones here. The BananaLlama slays me). It's a shame the name is associated more with a salad bar and fried foods outlet nowadays than with a really great song.

Having said that, mmmm, I sure miss buffalo sauce-soaked chicken strips.

Clearly you are crazy. You'll fit right in.

Indeed I do receive monetary benefits from this being 'understood' malarkey, as if I'm sufficiently misunderstood in my workplace I tend to quit.
I see. That does indeed sound like a beneficial quality to accumulate in one's self.

    You're welcome.

And, I know. The bananallama smilie is hilarious. The first time I saw it I LOL'ed. And then I saw it used in the right context and I laughed some more.

Hello. I have a lovely INFJ friend in real life, and I adore her. It's fun to make Internet INFJ friends as well ... I'm sure you're just as cool! Nice to meet you.

Yeah, round about January, you probably wouldn't be so envious.

Ha! true that. But today, when, it's 40C, and there is no Central Park ....

Ah yes, well ... I hear ya there.

Actually, although I used to live in the city, I now live in a pretty rural area of NY. I enjoy it, as long as I get to go back to NYC a lot and get my fix! There's no place like it.

Hey, welcome. Thailand, that's cool. Are you guys really in the constant state of protest that it looks like in the news, or is that just media distortions?

    Sawasdee, Anon.

There has certainly been a lot of kerfuffle here in the last six months or so; the main airport being held hostage by the 'Yellow Shirts' in December was pretty crazy. The 'red shirt' riots in Bangkok a few weeks ago nearly got very out of hand. I live up in the north where the only guns on the streets that week were water pistols: it was the Thai New Year festival of Songkran, when everyone throws water at each other. (Which sounds like an introvert's nightmare, and is, but also loads of fun as long as it's for a limited time). That week two died in the riots, but nearly 400 died in festival-related accidents in Thailand, mostly from drunk driving (and the figure is similar every year). So I'd say that the media both over- and underplays events.

It's my impression that most Thais want nothing to do with either the red or yellow shirt people, but it's easy for a country to get 'hijacked' by people prepared to use force. It reminds me very much of the US in 2003, in fact, when I traveled for 8 months in 38 States. In that whole time, of the nearly 600 people I met - with whom I was never the first to raise politics in conversation - only a handful supported Bush and going into Iraq. The vast majority felt the need to whisper to me (I'm an INFJ! I wear an invisible button which says 'Confide in Me!') that they felt angry, embarrassed and, above all, powerless to do anything about what was happening.

I would give a great deal to be able to road trip through California once more.
