Oh good! You'll be fine until you avoid the lake at noon on the 13th day of each month.

May I ask why I have to avoid the lake at noon on the 13th of each month?

By the way there is this strange man just staring out into the lake and I'm debating as to whether I should go up to him. Should I?

Can't reveal such aeons old secrets to you. It is dangerous and would just drive you mad.

You could try striking up a conversation with the man, he might have something wise to say, if he offers you an apple, refuse politely. I wouldn't follow him to the woods though. There are many stories, some say he'll take you to a paradise of unmeasurable pleasures, others say he'll take you to a hell of endless tortures. One thing is certain - no one returns from there. If you're willing to push your luck though...
