    Default From the slums of Shoalin, its the GZA!

    Ahahaha, hello everyone, I'm GZA (pronounced "jizza", or if you want to, "gizza").

    I got the name "GZA" from the Wu-Tang Clan... GZA/Genius is one of the more promonent members of the group, and I like his name. Wu-Tang forever!

    I came here because it looked interesting... I'm a 16 year old high school student and I've been reading about the Jung types for almost a year now. Its really quite fascinating!

    I'm an INFP, and when I read the description it was incredible how well it described me.

    My favourite thing to do is play my guitar and harmonica. I typically play a lot of blues based stuff... some country/folk stuff and some Chuck Berry style stuff, too. I listen to a lot of blues, rock and roll, jazz, country, rythem and blues, rap, and some folk music. My absolute favourite artists are; John Coltrane, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Robert Johnson, James Brown, and The Band.

    Yah, that definately doesn't suprise me. The people I've shown this stuff to have all said pretty much the same thing.

    By the way, I'm not actually from Shoalin, ahaha.

    Hello, GZA. Welcome to MBTI Central. Discussions often include elements of MBTI and general psychology.

    I'm glad to hear that you're interested in Jung's typology, I've been studying it for about three years now.

    I know Chuck Berry and the Beatles, but I've never heard of the others. Also, how hard was it for you to learn to play the guitar and harmonica, and what was your motivation to learn?

    For the sake of continued Wu-Tang puns:

    For heaven's sake, I was worried something was wrong

    @Athenien:
    You havn't heard of James Brown? The godfather of soul? Mr. Dynamite? The hardest working man in showbusiness?
    Oh well, its all good.

    Learning guitar was pretty easy... I got a teacher who ended up liking some of the same stuff I do and I listened to everything he said... I learned some basic chord structure and scales and then from there its just been building on that. It kind of came naturally... I have always had fun and I've always wanted to learn so it hasn't been too hard. At the same time, it gets frustrating sometimes... thats what happens though when you really love doing something. I wanted to learn how to play guitar after hearing Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix when I was about ten, although I didn't actually start playing untill I was 12.

    I started playing harmonica about... two years ago, although I didn't start playing it on a very regular basis untill about a year ago. I wanted to learn because of people like Bob Dylan and Neil Young who play guitar and harmonica. I don't take lessons for it though, I'm self taught. I play chords and I kind of make up an outline on the harmonica, usually just based on playing the first note of the chord, and then build on it; adding rythem and more notes to make transition from chord to chord. I'm not great at harmonica though, I'm kind of sloppy, but its a lot of fun and as long as I keep it fairly simple it sounds good.

    Welcome GZA!

    Do you mostly just play, or do write your own music too?
