    Default Hello

In my opinion, I find these introductory threads to be quite a waste of time, but I, regardless, proceed to do so.
Not too long ago I signed up on INTPCentral and through it I discovered this website. Currently I am having somewhat of a trouble deciding whether I am an INTJ or an INTP. On some tests I come out as INTP. On an equal amount of tests I come out as INTJ. But, on most recent tests, I am frequently getting RIGHT in the middle. Exactly 50/50.
As a result, I have been meticulously examining EVERY single description of both INTPs and INTJs that I can find. As it turns out, certain aspects of the INTJ description fit me better than the INTP, and vice-versa. Well, I'll just have to research more.

P.S. Due to my difficulty in typing myself, I have chosen under the type category of my profile to alternate between days. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, my type will be listed as INTJ. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, my type will be listed as INTP. On Sundays, I'll either write INTX, or something strange and irrelevant.

Welcome, and are you a 5w4 as well?

I'm also a borderline INTJ/INTP. But I identify more with INTJ -- I'm too cautious and controlling to be an INTP.

    (And I adore Dr. Strangelove!)

Yep, I am a 5w4(sp/so/sx). My Global 5/SLOAN type is RL[x]EI and my Oldham(sp?) types are Idiosyncratic, Solitary, and Vigilant, in that specific order.
I originally intended on my name to be "Merkwürdigeliebe" (an obvious reference to Dr. Strangelove), but it came out as "Merkw" (some computer glitch), much to my dismay.

If you'd like an opinion, you talk like an INTJ -- or like an INTP with a knobbly stick shoved uncomfortably up his posterior.

    But in any case, welcome.

    Who are we talking about?

Merkw and me have stats that are practically identical!

(Yes, I'm in a good mood, right now, so you don't have to think I'm an asshole. Even INTJs can be bipolar.)

Have you read the descriptions from the link in this thread, Merkw? The part on "do you know your best fit type?" might help you distinguish between the P/J.

    This signature left intentionally blank.

    Really.

Hmm...interesting speculation. And yes, Uberfuhrer's personality statistics do seem shockingly similar to mine.

I was talking to Merkw, since it was his thread...

Oh, I wouldn't think anything of the sort.

Well, I have a similar profile in most aspects (see sig), but the differences are probably the killer.

And there was a teensy grain of truth in there. The INTP men tend to be a little more casual and relaxed with their sentence structure; I have a hard time thinking "P" when your opening sentence was as follows:

In my opinion, I find these introductory threads to be quite a waste of time, but I, regardless, proceed to do so.
That's a very direct, closure-oriented judgment; and the word "regardless" bracketed by commas causes a full-sentence stop near the end. An INTP who talks like that is generally trying to poke fun at something or someone else who speaks that way.

But of course that's just a hunch. We will have to see how things play out.

    Are you my evil twin?

(Because I don't think I have Dissociative Identity Disorder.)
