    Default To introduce myself ---

Hello all. I'm new to this forum and wanted to introduce myself. I'm a retired scientist living on a small acreage in SE Arizona, the land of big pickup trucks and medium-sized rattlesnakes. I'm an INTJ with a significant S and P component to what I use for a personality. I spend a lot of time hiking in the mountains here and in California, Oregon and Washington. I'm a competent but not particularly distinguished pistol target shooter and enjoy reading, music and my own naive version of philosophical discourse. I am a non-doctrinaire, leftist-libertarian politically. I look forward to reading the posts and to my occasional participation on this forum.

    Hello there

Do you think the significant S and P have come through maturity as you've experienced life and come to trust your lesser functions? Or did you always have them?

I lived in Scottsdale for a year, and I've been to Tuscon. And I'm a political scientist who would like to retire.

Hence . . . we are like the same exact person.

There can’t be any large-scale revolution until there’s a personal revolution, on an individual level. It’s got to happen inside first.

I don't really know for sure. I have only recently learned about typology and personality types; I found a reference to MBTI on a web site I visit and explored the subject a bit. I found the concept to be incredibly liberating. Before learning about MBTI, I always though of myself as sort of a misanthropic misfit who spent a lot of time "inside". Now I have a "home".

To answer your question, I believe that the S has always been there in its present concentration. But, over the years, I have become much more patient (I have really worked hard at it) and I see patience as a P characteristic. So, I suspect that I have moved more into the P realm as the years have gone by.
