No, because that is in a private house, its not on public display is it?

MBTIc is not a public display either.

While registration is free, you still had to register. (I.e., you joined a private group.)

So yes, we permitted you to come into our house. You're part of the family; but you're also a guest... just like the rest of us.

So all of us have to give and take a bit.

I'm not going to belabor the point more, however.

Good answer, you can't beat the logic in that.

And then take the responsibility themselves to resolve issues they cannot live with.
Well, you're not wrong. However, this is a public forum. If a person makes a request, and the avatar is just something so trivial, it's not the end of the world if you change it. To be honest with you, when I first came into this thread and saw her avatar for the first time, I was eating and I was completely put off my food. If I knew, it was going to create such a issue, I would not have asked her. I would have downloaded a popup blocker which blocks specific images you define it to block.

(For example, if Nat's "flying pigs" avatar is THAT offensive to you, you are permitted to Ignore all of her comments. Is it worth the cost to miss out on her input because of her avatar?
I have nothing against her as a person, and that would be quite pathetic to ignore someone just because of an avatar. Yes, I will be upset for a little while and I might a little passive aggressive on her.

Perhaps to you it is. But it's your decision. And it's the solution that remains to you, since you are the only one out of a few hundred other people who is offended by her whimsical avatar. Why is it more proper for everyone else to change to appease one person? No one could have ANY avatars if that was the groundrule, I promise you -- someone is ALWAYS offended.)
Depends on the objection. Come on... Lets get back to reality here. If I was using an avatar which wasn't work safe for someone and the person said to me "Look could you please change your avatar its not work safe for me" I would actually change it, because a person is making a reasonable objection.

As far as etiquette goes, I have three children and deal constantly with the compromises that have to occur so that individuality can be respected by BOTH sides, not just the person making the request. It is not a pretty job, but it's not nearly as clear-cut as you make it to be.
    This is irrelevant.

So, then way have nonsensical rules, let me bring your attention to some points in the rules:

Ok, I guess now it stands on wether or not that is an offensive image.

Since no one here but you finds it offensive, you should do what you said you could, and block the image.

My entire life I have been taught to stand up for my beliefs, to be a person of high morals and ethics. That's why I feel obligated to pave the way for people of every sex, race, and socioeconomic status to fulfill their own spiritual destiny.
