Default ISTP - More Famous People or Celberities

OK, so the websites seem to often say actors. i imagine it is hard to type actors well as we normally see them in an acting capacity playing someone else!
Stolen from one website here are their suggestions for ISTP celebs:
    Vin Diesel
    George Carlin
    Kevin Spacey
    Chris Daughtry
    James Bond (Casino Royale)
    Connor MacLeod (Highlander)
    Léon (Léon)
    Jean Valjean (Les Miserables)
    Willie (Bad Santa)
    Travis Bickle (Taxi Driver)

Anyone got any comments or other suggestions? Or any females?!!! Or are the female ISTP's busy being self destructive riding motorbikes and doing drugs to become famous? Angelina Jolie anyone?

    Angelina Jolie anyone?
    I think she's ESTP (thread).

I believe Christian Bale (thread), Scarlett Johansson (thread), Ellen Page and maybe Katy Perry to be ISTPs.

Yeah i agree. I did think ISTP for Angelina, as i think she ticks a lot of ISTP boxes. but i can definitely see where the E could come from.
i think with Christian Bale and Scarlett are good examples. I see a lot of people argued your views on Scarlett Economica particularly over the I but i am going to agree with you on the I.
A lot of people would argue that i am an E simply because i have developed the ability to act as an E in a social situation. However, clearly i am an I.
Scarlett is a very talented actress and therefore i would think she was highly capable of acting like an extrovert in a social situation.

Don't really know enough about Ellen Page and Katy Perry really to comment.
But thanks very much for your opinions. x

We didn't touch upon this in the thread as I recall, but the size of her family surely speaks to ESTP. Would any ISTP want 6+ kids under the age of 8?

well i can say i sure as hell wouldn't want 6 kids or any kids in fact! but then i'm not sure that that is just my type.... I have never really been around kids(except when i was one) and i just don't mesh well with them.
I don't know actually. now that you mention it, are you basing the E on any other aspect of Angelina's personality? I kind of still see her as a bit of an I.
I mean if we looked at Angelina from 10 years ago- Self harming/motorbikes/impulsive marriages/bisexuality/tattoos/ obsession with danger, she is looking very much like a typical ISTP.
I think it is hard to type someone you have never met, but i think there is a fair argument for her being an I.

I guess in my attempt to explain the children thing, i have stolen this quote from Socionics.com. I think it is showing an extreme version of ISTP but nevertheless:

The most obvious thing that could give ISTps away is probably their obsession with pets. Sometimes it could reach ridiculous dimensions, turning ISTp's place into a zoo. This obsession is very closely connected with ISTp's hidden agenda. Since ISTps have unconscious need to be able to show their affection towards another, who could be a better suitable candidate for this than a pet, or better a dozen of them. People can reject your love and your good intentions, pets will never.
So my theory is that Angelina is using a child, or better still a dozen children as objects for her affection that will never reject her.

Anyway, there's my theory for the mix! Are there any other arguments for her E rather than I?

Is it more ISTP than ESTP? (Not rhetorical.)

She doesn't strike me as Ti dominant. More action, less self-containment. Admittedly I'm very vibe-oriented which I know drives you STPs crazy. IIRC I tried to crystallize it in the thread.

(Maybe a mod should move these posts to the AJ thread...?)

Angelina Jolie may be sexy and a cool woman, but I don't think she's exactly 'sane'.

Surprisingly I've seen actress Grace Kelly classified as ISTP. I've read a bit about her and I agree with at least the IST - part. She was a real wild-woman underneath her cool as ice exterior (which BTW was mostly manufactured by the studios she worked for).

I've also read that actress Ashely Judd is ISTP and this I believe. She even fits the stereotype - loves race cars (and race-car drivers!), football, and apparently does her own landscaping/gardening.
