Below is something I wrote for an ISTP who I love but can't be with as what we want in life is different. I didn't want to send this to him, so I'll just post it here :
I really do understand.. I understand that u can't commit cos that's not what u want in life. I understand that u r like a bird, who will die in a cage. I understand that freedom in all sense is your life. When I look at your picture, I thought of how I kissed u n u kissed me back. The feeling of your moustache rubbing against my skin.
Do I love u? Yes I do. With all my heart n soul. Why? There are numerous things that I can list down.. But those are not the main reasons. The main reason is when I look at your face, my heart stirs. Even if it is just a longing, a yearning going forward, I will gladly suffer it. Cos I love u.
Lying in the beach, on the first night u kissed me.. U asked what's stopping us from being together. U answered your own question, culture. Nothing has changed. It is culture, it is personality. U need freedom which I will give u.. Cos I love u n want u to b happy instead of being suffocated under the weight of my love.
I think we gave it a fair shot.. I gave u a chance, u tried.. I believed with my whole heart that u loved me sincerely. There r lies, which I didn't manage to detect in your eyes before, but I believe u meant it when u said u love me. Thanks for ur honesty that u have given me, that u can't offer me what I want in life. On the flip side, I can't offer u what u want in life too. So I'm letting u go, if freedom is what u need to live. We r both disappointed, but we at least we can say we both have truly lived.
