Default New labels for ISTp's other than "mechanic".

I find "technical artist" to be a very appropriate one. I see myself as a "technical artist", systematic but free flowing. I analyze a properties function so I can manipulate and maneuver it and myself as how I see fit.

Keirsey said "Crafter" or "Tactical Contender." Both of those sound pretty cool. And that "personality types made relevant" page said "Psycho Vigilante."

Contender sounds good, if ENFP's get something like Challenger and INFJ's Defender.

I've liked the term Craftsman, be used.
