Just start doing different things? You'll attract like-minded individuals usually. I don't know. I've never had this sort of problem.

If you get into trouble you're doing it wrong.

:)

lol.. The ones who think trouble is only trouble if you get caught find it even easier.

Err.. that sounds more complicated than I intended. Fuck it. ;)

Also, you'd think that sp's are the most risk-averse and security-oriented.

We broke typology. Again.

yes.

Fine, damn it

What I mean is that, stereotypically, sp's are security-oriented and therefore risk averse. We're obviously seeing sp's who are actively taking risks and are urging others to do the same, which ought to make us question the stereotype.

Yeah, at best, SPs learn from the ground up. You live, you learn. SJs adopt a more cohesive or stable worldview earlier (maybe some outright promote some sense of tradition or learning from their elders more, but I don't want to stereotype too much). Some SPs never learn. In fact, they're a plague on the earth, well into old age. :)

edit: Oh I agree about sp instinctuals.

I would add though that sp doesn't necessarily mean security in some Betty Crocker type of way. There are many ways people view what's essential for their well being or security. There's no straight line that leads them to some secure occuptation, neighborhood, etc.. Especially by "objective" or stereotypical standards. Objective judgement is.. Fe or Te. Ti and Fi have different ways of deciding what is going to work, and what the problem areas are.

Damn it. Forget that whole thing that I said. I didn't see that this was posted in the SP Arthouse, which gives an obvious and specific meaning for.. y'know, sp.

carry on :newwink:

lol, I didn't have that in mind at all. Just some SPs might grow well into old age - like a 50 year old woman who just feeds off her spouses and gold digs - or some old hedonist who spends half of his time at all you can eat buffets or smokes too much or gambles.. Hell the entire Las Vegas industry is built around old gamblers who hog up all you can eat buffets. It's a whole city catering to them. The only gangster drug lords might be the owners of said casinos, and they're a minority.

That said, they can do what they want, but they are a plague.

I think the people running the business are the plague and those who fall into it are the victims.

Its been a good year for people realizing they need to quit being so soft and take care of their own priorities and tell those who think they can just cut in at a random point and expect to be taken care of first that they can either wait their turn like everybody else or piss off, thank you God since it puts a damper on adventures when people try so hard to keep everybody happy that the organization part of adventures is ran into the ground and kills the surprise element

Our society currently values safety, emotional support, building self esteem, and political correctness more than it does other concepts.

Everything is too dangerous even though by any measure, we are safer living our lives today than we have ever been in the past.

Everything has become anodyne so as to not offend anyone anywhere at any time. We expect contrition and public apologies for actions that don't require it.

We would rather give everyone a trophy for participating, than actually rewarding success.

I admit it. I skipped all of the replies. [may go back and read them later as time permits] and I'm going straight for the original question:

Question: Why are people so soft?

Answer: Because they eat too many mashed potatoes.

(okay, I went back and just read Disco Biscuit's reply and yeah, like I said, too many mashed potatoes.)
