Amy Winehouse seems to be an esfp. Pretty cool, nice person too, except for the tragic spiral towards death. She had some fun moments on british television with Simon Amstell who I believe is an intp.

One of my very best friends in the entire planet is ESFP. (Not that I have friends ALL over the planet but.. well. I think anyone would want to be around her.) She's really sweet, understanding, supportive and sisterly,, but also has the "stereotypical" ESFP side of doing a lot of the crazy partying (not as much now that she gets older). and knows a lot about a ton of stuff so she can basically pick up a conversation with anyone with any culture/situation/ age/ whatever. (That's the most admirable quality to me.) The Se generally translates to an openness about the world, she's basically a sponge.

Did I mention she's really REALLY pretty and got proposed to like six times? Not to be shallow but GEEZ! Anyway. She claims that many women could be the same way and it's due to the way she carries herself and I would have to agree!!

They are consistently my favorite type about tied with the ENTJ.

Even though this is purely anecdotal, most of the people ive suspected to be ESFP's were the people whose company I actually enjoyed the most, they bring out a more entertaining side of people and help them enjoy those small moments of social bliss.

I suppose ive also met some who rubbed me the wrong way and who, when really on the downward spiral, could be monstrous in the justification of their actions....but the majority appear to be so enjoyable it more than makes up for it.

There is no longer anything to point to beyond, nothing Other, so it points pointlessly to itself.' - Iain McGilChrist

People who call ESFPs stupid may themselves be somewhat stupid.
Generally, when people see a negative quality in someone else, they fear that others can see that very same negative quality in them. They see "stupid" in ESFPs, instead of outgoing, friendly, enthusiastic, and energetic. Or perhaps, they talk about abstract subjects but aren't really secure that they know what they're talking about. When the supposedly stupid ESFP wants to talk about something else because the person talking about whatever the abstract topic of the day is seems to be rambling and confused, the ESFP is called "stupid."
A more confident person will see the gifts that the ESFP can offer the conversation and will let the conversation be free flowing.
We are creative, imaginative people who love our surroundings.
We have wonderful gifts that shine through to those who will look for them.
    Best wishes to all.

I don't know about famous ESFPs. But as far as people I know go, ESFPs are definitely my favourite friends to hang out with and do stuff with. And the ones I know are not stupid. I could live without most types but I fucking love ESFPs.

In my experience ESFPs like to boss me around and try to change me, since I am not conforming to the social norms and fulfilling the societal obligations that they find so important, ESFP for me being the most judgemental of all the types, except possibly ESFJ.
