    Yeah..

Even in the more stereotypical physical things, there's always been a "loner" aspect for me, I guess. At my most physically active, I can remember playing basketball by myself for hours. Sometimes it'd be really offputting if other people came on to the court (yeah, even rain and cold weather was preferable lol..). I was in my head, but still active.

    I don't think I'm a 5 though. Probably 6w5, like others here.

I think by my late teens/20s though, some shit went down where I asked different questions, did a lot of soul searching, thought and read about a lot about more things... I acted very much like a 5. I'm going to say that anything like that would bring out the "intellectual" side in an ISTP (or any SP, for that matter).

The main point of E5 is to gain knowledge. The more knowledge you know the more prepared you can be to deal with the world. The knowledge collected may be different between INTP and ISTP.

I can def see IsTP's being 5's. Having a low S score still means you're an ISTP. That is the variation of MBTI but because there is a majority rule about MBTI it forces people into definitive categories. It's not an exact science. Low and high scores in each of the four areas will equal a same typed person but personality will be hardly recognizable on the surface levels.

If you do that, then you're unlikely to be 5.

5's main point is not about being "soul searching" or "gaining knowledge", 7, 6, 8, 9, 4, 1, and every types to an extent can have a big drive to "gain knowledge". "I'am addicted to gain new skills then that means that I'am a 5" is ridiculous, the most addicted people to gain new skills that I know are 7s and 3s.

5s typycally are out of touch with reality, out of touch with their own body, live in their imaginary world and feel alien. ISTPs are very unlikely to be like that and then are unlikely to be 5. Some can be, but just a few, Type 5 has'nt anything to do in a "top 5 enneatypes for ISTP" list. They tend more to be 3,7 or 8.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree, Speed. E5 may not be top enneagram for ISTP but I don't think it is rare.

No, you are just flat out WRONG. This argument is moot. Admit your defeat. None of this agree to disagree nonsense.

I have a hard time seeing many ISFPs as enneagram 3's. Of course the combination is possible, just not very probable. If you're looking at celebrity lists though, that distorts things somewhat because 3's are the type more likely to become celebrities.

I haven't read beyond the first page of this but I'd like to add:

    • there ARE plenty of ISTP 5s
    • you seem to think that ISxPs are somehow more ambiverted than INxx, generally speaking of course

IMO, I'd put 4w5 or 6w5 way before I put 7w6 for ISFPs
    for ISTPs, I'd put 9w8 AND 5w6 before 6w7 or 8w7
