Hey! :cheese:

I saw this Holland Code stuff in the NF Idyllic (kittycat's thread) and took the test. <Thanks kittycat! :D >

It was interesting.

Sweet... quite good at that actually. Kind of wish there were luthier schools around. I'd build instruments if I could..

haha.. that'd be kind of cool. don't worry. your works will still be cherished and remembered.. depending on how infamous the criminal is. :D

[edit] I just remembered I once had the chance to tech for a pretty well known metal guitarist. I totally undersold myself (lack of "Enterprising". Doh).

I got ARE or AER. It seems to be a good combination of letters because a whole bunch of fun jobs were suggested, including actress, interior designer, photographer, fashion illustrator, and the infamous police artist (that might require me to look in the mirror and do a self portrait... arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggggggh!).

I have done this test and variations a lot. I always get some variation of artistic, realistic and investigative. Typically enterprising and conventional are bottom of the heap.

Realistic: 15 *highest
Investigative: 10
Artistic: 12

Social: 8

Enterprising: 6
Conventional: 3 *lowest

I did a search. This site is a fun way to look at variations of the top three.

Here are some of mine. RA and AR sound appealing, maybe I should change careers... again.

Brick Layer/Mason (RA)
Cabinetmaker (RA)
Carpenter (RA)
Desktop Publishers (RA)
Architectural Drafter (RA)
Glass Blower (RA)
Sound Technician (RA)
Stone Carver (RA)

Floral Designer (AR)
Painter/Illustrator (AR)
Sculptor (AR)
Set Designer (AR)
Architect (ARI)
Museum Technicians/Conservator (ARI)
Dancer (ARS)
Industrial Designer (ARE)
Photographer (ARE)

I am going to make a MS Excel spreadsheet of this and post it, just for grins. :D

I noticed we are all really high on being "artistic." Rightfully so! :party2:

How about Wolfy and I being low as all get out on being conventional? Oops!

On that site, Landscape Architect was listed under RAI. Which is another thing that's always seemed appealing. Not sure how it relates to Instrument Tech, but...

Anyways, I'm actually uncomfortable with many artistic tasks/jobs. I can be artistic, but the idea of being an "Artist" (with a capital A) is too much pressure for me. Even when I create, I'm kind of creating strictly in the moment with my sight, hearing, and hands. I'm more akin to a jammer. The idea of the glass blower is very similar to how I might play guitar or draw sometimes. I don't work entirely in the realm of the conceptual, and then implement, which is what I'd say many artists do.

Yes, and I also noticed that (with the one exception of Walking Tourist) the ISFPs are all low on "enterprising" while the ESTPs are high in that area. This fits David Keirsey's model in the book "Brains and Careers" where he describes ESTPs as being the "enterprising or expediting Artisans" and ISFPs as being "accommodating" or "responding." Both types being Artisans in temperament but being "opposites" within the group.

RIA with R being highest.

Enterprising was my lowest.

EDIT: Took it again (because I half-assed it last time) and got R and I tied.

Yeah I'd agree with a lot of those careers. Although I suspect that if I took this a few years ago, my artistic would be higher and my investigative lower.

Careers:

Architectural Drafters
Dancers
Fine Artists, Including Painters, Sculptors, and Illustrators
Makeup Artists, Theatrical and Performance
Photographers
Set and Exhibit Designers

Alternatively, you can look at jobs in these other areas:

AIR
Architects, Except Landscape and Naval
construction
Landscape Architects
Poets, Lyricists and Creative Writers

Sounds about right.

IRS

I'm probably more like an ISR.

I swapped it around to IS and IR, and I got a lot of careers in science and medicine suggested.

Anthropologist (ISA)
Physician Assistants (ISA)
Internist (ISE)
Physician, General Practice (ISE)
Obstetricians/Gynecologists (ISE)
Biologist (ISR)
Chiropractor (ISR)
Dentist (ISR)

etc. Unfortunately this isn't really anything like what I'm interested in doing.
