ISTJ's, when you are annoyed with someone, how do you react and do you hold a grudge? I had to fill in for an ISTJ in his absence in a work situation and I fouled a few things up. They weren't "world stopping", job losing, financially disastrous mistakes. They were minor in nature, yet I'll admit that my mistakes created a little extra work for him upon his return.

What surprised me was his reaction. Instead of showing any kind of appreciation that I filled in for him in the first place and for the 95% that I did right, he kind of acted like a jerk about it and I lost some respect for him. God forbid that he has to do anything outside of his comfortable little routine. I get along pretty well with ISTJ's (including him), but when someone goofs something up and pisses you off, how do you react? Do you lose respect for the person who made the mistakes or is he just trying to be firm and express that this can't happen again or what? I didn't know what to make of his little outburst.

He's probably angry at your incompetence. I wouldn't blame him... However, having said that, I would have a different reaction... I don't blow up at people unless I get absolutely completely pushed over the edge, and that rarely happens. On the other hand, when a situation like me blowing my head is about to occur, I try to avoid the person who's annoying me, and don't say anything about it.

I usually get over it pretty quickly too, and I don't hold grudges because life is too short for that.

Agreed with ChosenOne-

He'll get angry and get over it. You can't project your view of your mistakes onto him. Like you said, it caused more work for him, and you probably threw him off his routine.
Don't take it personal. At the same time, DON'T do it again.

The thing is ISTJs are sensitive to stress. I go to a lot of trouble to be careful about work and protect myself constantly from wasting time or energy and make things smooth because I'm sensitive to stress. This is probably why he got snappy. I can understand why it looks OTT to you. I personally have learned as I've gotten older to chill out and be patient about things like that, but it's still really stressful when I feel someone has made me suffer something unnecessarily because I'm so careful that I don't.

It would depend on a few things. If I was really stressed out then I may not even take into consideration that you filled in for me in the first place, but instead be focused on the things you messed up.

Personally, I don't hold grudges, but I never forget when I have been wronged.

The worst is when another STJ uses this on you. I HATE it!!!

 I don't think this has ever happened to me. However, an ISFJ TRIED to use it against! She failed. I laughed.
