If a boss dared to say that to me, I'll produce a basket of eggs on his-her face :hi:

:pornstar:

And with good reason. May we all pray we don't end up with a boss like that someday.

ESTJs and bosses are one and the same thing in my life. It's difficult to get passed the holier than thou vibe they seem to send off all the time. I've also learned to be extra careful if they're trying to be nice because it's just not their nature. By which I do not mean that ESTJs aren't nice. It's just not that high on their priority list. They're focused on getting things done by all means, which is their strong talent and for that I do credit them.

As far as your boss and his/her company is concerned, YOU are an input to the output. Yes. You.

Yes, I understand this. And I don't have a problem with it. Problem is, by being all up in my stuff all the time, he's actually HURTING his output. That's the messed up part. He thinks that by hovering around me and trying to show me this and show me that, that he's improving productivity. He's not. I already know how to do the job efficiently. That's what INTP's do - we're all about efficiency. Efficiency to the max. I understand that he THINKS he's improving productivity, but he's wasting his time and mine (and makes people mad in the process) by watching everything we do. You want people to be productive for you? You gotta train them well (I already am) and let them fly. Don't try to cage the bird. Let the bird fly and you'll get results.

You are a commodity. You are LABOR, and nothing else to him. All that matters is that you produce. Produce, produce, produce. Make like the hen with the eggs. :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken:

Right. I get that. And I WANT to produce for him. I really, really do. But, he's so busy watching people and telling them that what they're doing is wrong and even getting mad at them, that he's messing up his own productivity and the productivity of everyone under him. How can I be productive if you're watching me, always making a comment, wanting to go over every single thing, and even showing anger? Chill. I know how to do my job. Trust me, I'm not inefficient. Just because I don't do it EXACTLY his way, does not mean I'm not as productive. Basically, he's doing ALL kinds of things to try to be productive, but by doing all of those things - all he's doing is taking time away from being productive. Let people work. Go do some work yourself. Let's all work and be productive. Stop talking to me and yelling at Wilma, and arguing with Randy. Just work!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's all we're trying to do for him. Let us do it. :dont:

That really, really sucks. I sympathize. Yeah, Halla had excellent advice with regard to this.

Random note: NOT liking the anti-ESTJ venting from some people on this thread. Can we keep in mind that there are well-rounded, nice ESTJs out there, and that we shouldn't judge all ESTJs based on a select few people? Even if some of you guys don't mean it that way, the phrasing could be better. We have feelings too

I have an ESTJ boss. I fucking hate him. He is such a dick. He either talks down to people, or does things that seem faintly sadistic.

I'm sure you're a very nice person. I just don't like my boss who happens to be ESTJ.
