    I have a list.

A set of validations and conditions that are checked when considering a new person. Kind of like a computer program validating a form on a website...

Of course I would be surprised if someone fit all of the criteria, that would probably be unreasonable to expect that as well but if they hit a good number of them, then I will consider them.

And the list itself is quite detailed. There's lots of detailed items and checks to run in the list. Each item has a weight too, so not all criteria are equally important. Some are deal breakers, some are nice to have, some are important but negotiable... etc...

I think you should have some kind of validation, otherwise you end up getting stuck with slobs etc. But I think it's good to know what you want and what you like but to also realise that you will probably never find anyone who hits all of the targets and instead be content with someone who meets the important stuff and perhaps has a few nice to haves in there as well...

I'd add that my list wasn't written out, just more of a mental list. And it was categorized by order of importance.

"I had a bag of Fritos, they were Texas grilled Fritos. These Fritos had grill marks on them. They remind me of summer, when we used to fire up the barbeque and throw down some Fritos. I can still see my dad with the apron on. Better flip that Frito, dad, you know how I like it." -Mitch Hedberg

You guys had mentioned all my list already. I seconded everyone.

Gosh! I'm such a picky person. No wonder it's hard for me to find a mate. But that's okay. I don't want to waste my time for the wrong person anyway.
