The president doesn't have the power to do most of the things listed in these responses.

If I were dropped into the presidency today, I would:

Reverse all of Obama's executive orders

Fire at least 90 percent of the executive staff, as well as most of the cabinet (there's nothing in the Constitution that says you have to have all these secretaries of various departments.)

Cancel the nomination of Sotomayor and nominate Judge Judy for Supreme Court.

Have no spokesperson or "press secretary." The press is gonna make up their stories as usual anyway, might as well not give them any more ammunition.

No state of the union speeches. My "state of the union" would be a short, written document, delivered to the Congress once a year as required by the Constitution.

Veto EVERYTHING this Congress sent me

Star in "Who Wants to Marry the President?" dating tv show to select my wife.

My short-term goal would be to achieve single digits in approval rating. Bush was a pansy, he only got it down to the 20's, I know I can beat that!

Most likely, because of the long-term federal government shutdown caused by my vetoing of all appropriations bills, I would be the first president removed from office, so I see it going something like this:

Filibuster my own impeachment trial with the longest, rambling, incoherent speech ever given in the history of mankind.

Hire someone to set up the most elaborate maze of booby-traps ever in the White House, so that when I'm removed from office, security can't get to me and force me out. When that one, lone, brave warrior finally manages to get past the array of deadly defenses and reach me in the oval office, rest assured I will be waiting.

    With a mayonnaise gun.

    Jeffster.

I know the president doesn't actually get to make these big decisions, they are left to the bilderbergs or the Rockerfellers, blah blah blah. (love a conspiracy)
Love the idea for the TV dating show though.

It would be much more entertaining if you just randomly vetoed stuff. Just sort of pick three bills out of the stack, while your eyes are shut, and veto them.
Vetoing everything would get to be way too predictable and boring.

    I like your thinking.
