    Default Values in Relationships

To dupe a thread topic from the NF private forums:

What do NTs value in their romantic relationships? Feel free to answer however you wish... (a list, detailed paragraphs, whatever).

I'll be lazy and mercifully brief:

    - Honesty/Trust
    - Mutual exploration of the richness of Life together
    - Commitment/Faithfulness/Sacrifice
    - Intimacy and/or Communication
    - Respect/Consideration

“Pleasure to me is wonder—the unexplored, the unexpected, the thing that is hidden and the changeless thing that lurks behind superficial mutability. To trace the remote in the immediate; the eternal in the ephemeral; the past in the present; the infinite in the finite; these are to me the springs of delight and beauty.” ~ H.P. Lovecraft

    - imagination and willingness to share imagination
    - curiosity/love of exploration & experimentation
    - I hate to be cliche, but....ability to "think outside the box" (drives me nuts when someone HAS to do something a certain way, simply because that's the way it's "always been done" without considering there might be a better way to do it)
    - confidence (in themselves and me)
    - the ability to understand emotions without gushing them all over the place

I like a few kinds of people, and the qualities I appreciate can be mutually exclusive among them. Universally? Honesty maybe, an occasionally positive attitude, and an engaging presence.

I don't think I really value anything but being comfortable with the person. Maybe I am just such a loser with no friends that I don't take that sort of thing for granted. I am not comfortable with many people (read: 2 or 3 in my life).

Trust, humor, and a seemingly effortless connection.
