Did you have low interest in people when young? I did. Over the past decade, my social drive has increased and is now probably higher than it ever was. This is a pain because I now have to rely on other people somewhat to entertain me. I'm distracted from work and hobbies. I didn't bother trying to make any friends in my twenties, and the small amount of dating I did was unsuccessful, so in a sense I'm starting from scratch socially.

I don't really even feel lonely; I just feel bored, understimulated, disconnected. Part of me wants to go back to the time when I was satisfied with books. It really does feel like a drive, an uncontrollable urge, not a conscious desire: my conscious preference is still avoiding people.

Anyone else have experience with this?
