I used to think that way, i.e. that flirting will give the other a false impression of yourself or that it's similar to acting. Maybe it's the introversion of INTJs that makes them think like that, but flirting must be one of the sexiest things in this world. You learn a lot about the other person through flirting. It can be hidden in the subtext of a normal conversation or the typical sexy flirting (we're nerds, aren't we?). When I flirt, I'm actually quite naughty with my language. And especially with ENTPs you really can't be "offensive" enough, tss!

Maybe thats why so many Introverts don't like to flirt. This wheel spins both directions. In order to flirt effectively, one has to put themselves out there with a kind of 'reckless abandon' (seems that way to me anyhow) and not care about rejection, looking stupid, saying stupid things, revealing too much... its a mess! Too much to think about.

At least, I THINK this is how flirting should go... :cheese:

Lets see... what kind of flirting have I done lately.

Oh! I smiled at a Doctor and shook his hand! I also made direct eye contact with someone I have a crush on for AT LEAST two full seconds, and I think a smile was spreading on my face during that time. (Or maybe it was a smirk...)

I stood near a guy too while being very subtle about turning my body in his general direction.

If these aren't clues enough that I like someone ... well then... :steam: I quit!
