I'm fairly certain I'm an NT but am undecided as to which of the 4 types I am. I'm unsure whether to base my type on how I act or how I prefer. For I/E I'm a student and spend a lot of time at school/ studying. In class I seem to have completely different personalities (Maths and Art I'm loud, boisterous, opinionated and sarcastic, in Chem and Bio I'm quieter overall but still make sarky commentary to the person next to me). I don't socialise all that much but enjoy parties (I'm that kid that stats right til the end and you literally have to push out the door). People who know me have told me I'm 'flirtatious' (even when I don't mean to, I was at a careers fair and accidentally spent half an hour flirting with a 50 year old guy from the army, but I can't think of a thing to say when talking to women from universities), sarcastic, I've been told I'm argumentitive and opinionated although others have told me I'm quiet (I like to sit back and observe sometimes, people fascinate me). The comparison I get most often is 'cat like' (coming from all sorts of people from wildly varying friendship groups who don't know each other). I dislike public speaking or even speaking in class when I'm not sure about a topic (I like to make well informed comments/decisions and who likes to make a fool of themselves ?!) And value my 'alone time' and enjoy reflection. So I don't know if I'm E or I (if it were an option I'd say ambivert). J/P is the hardest one. I've ended up in a habit due to disliking what I do of leaving things and focusing on other tasks (mostly learning things) and usually end up doing things with an extended deadline (especially art, I like to set aside time so I don't get distracted (focusing on multiple things at once isn't as successful for me, I'm all or nothing) but when under pressure can be very efficient. I don't feel comfortable leaving things late or undone and need structure or I drift. I don't know if my hobbies/ interests would be an indicator of my preferences but I like following current events, politics, learning languages, TV and film (especially political dramas- house of cards, scandal and law/justice shows) and playing the piano.

Easiest way to determine whether you're an I or an E: do people drain you or energize you?

Easiest way to determine whether you're a J or a P: do you generally make a judgement about something quickly, or usually wait on it?

Typing other people, even ones that you've known for over a decade, can be tough. Typing strangers over the Internet is way harder still. :)

Base your typing on you in your natural habitat.

In class I seem to have completely different personalities (Maths and Art I'm loud, boisterous, opinionated and sarcastic, in Chem and Bio I'm quieter overall but still make sarky commentary to the person next to me).

Level of comfort.

I don't socialise all that much but enjoy parties (I'm that kid that stats right til the end and you literally have to push out the door).

E

I've been told I'm argumentitive and opinionated although others have told me I'm quiet (I like to sit back and observe sometimes, people fascinate me).

Level of comfort.

I dislike public speaking or even speaking in class when I'm not sure about a topic.

Public speaking is one of the largest phobias.

And value my 'alone time' and enjoy reflection.

Most people do... But, a better question-- do people drain you?

I don't feel comfortable leaving things late or undone
