Smiling at customers was an anathema to me

Yes! If I am to smile it will be on my terms and because something sincerely made me do so.

Like an overly ruffled collar for example....
'One of (Lucas) Cranach's masterpieces, discussed by (Joseph) Koerner, is in it's self-referentiality the perfect expression of left-hemisphere emptiness and a precursor of post-modernism. There is no longer anything to point to beyond, nothing Other, so it points pointlessly to itself.' - Iain McGilChrist

Suppose a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?"
"Suppose it didn't," said Pooh, after careful thought.
    Piglet was comforted by this.

I plan to become a high school English teacher and write fiction novels and poetry on the side. After teaching high school for a while and earning my masters, I am thinking about becoming a college English professor.

I am a senior consultant for a governmental organisation. I advise a division-director on HR-matters. I like the influence I have, the inside information, the need to overview a comlex situation, analyse and quickly decide on the best options for problemsolving.
I don't like the bureaucratic enviremont I'm in (I 'm more compatetive). On the other side: I also don't like the stress, the pressure to always preform at the top of your abillity. So, thats a bit ambiques.
