Default My fellow INTPs, i've found the most amazing thing ever!

an app that lets you sent messages to yourself in the future!

very cool ! I tried to send to my future self in 100 years, of course no answer. Then I tried in 60, no answer. So I tried in 40, still no answer. Since I have tried in 10 years now and still got no answer, I am starting to become seriously nervous

A far more interesting implementation would queue those messages for 5, 10, 15 years but each message would also be paired with a set of answers you predict your future self will give. That way in the future, when the app finally sends you the message, you can laugh at your past naivete

If the past determines the future but the future can also extrapolate back to the past it logically follows that not only what we will do now will influence what we will do later but also what we will do later should also influence what we will be doing now hence the whole theory of cause and effect would be completely turned around on its head as we unleash the paradoxes of the impossible!

I think I sent a couple for 20 years or so.
'One of (Lucas) Cranach's masterpieces, discussed by (Joseph) Koerner, is in it's self-referentiality the perfect expression of left-hemisphere emptiness and a precursor of post-modernism. There is no longer anything to point to beyond, nothing Other, so it points pointlessly to itself.' - Iain McGilChrist

Suppose a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?"
"Suppose it didn't," said Pooh, after careful thought.
    Piglet was comforted by this.

I think I did something like this a couple of months ago. Basically, if five years from now I haven't picked a path and decided on a job, I will have past me to remind me to not be a loser.

I told my future self to meet me at this exact moment, should time travel ever become commercially viable.

    I did not show up.

I have a bad feeling that it's going to be like the "The Last Question".

But maybe that's a good thing!
