My ideal environment is a tree in a jungle next to New York City or Tokyo. :p Preferably with a college nearby.

So either relatively large city or access to one, and also access to wild nature. The city I live in now isn't really big, but it's not small either, and it has a lot of parks and trails and is close to the Smokey Mountains. I couldn't do without the culture and intellect of a city, and all the fun things to do; but I need trees and animals too.
This would be my dream I seem to have a pull towards towards nature and cities I enjoy cities more usually however when I am in the mood the forest and nature will attract me and put me into a magnet to metal like trance and I will see all the natural beauty and mystique about nature and it puts me into a orgasmic like state :D

I live in a big city (Toronto) and while I totally enjoy the fact that there's always something to do and someplace to see, I still relish the times I can escape into the Don Valley where it's lush and overgrown and secluded. And although I like having the beach at my disposal, I really miss the mountains.

And I've thought about it, but I'd give up the exciting bustle of the city for the serenity of a place in the mountains or by a beautiful lake in a heartbeat as long as I have like-minded people nearby that I can connect with and do outdoorsy stuff with. I am an extrovert, after all...and the prospect of LOTS of people is the main draw for me to a city while the main reservation I have about a more natural environment is how cut off from those people I'd be. But, in the end, I really need nature in my life more than anything to recharge.

I think that might be an innate thing for humans, though. I don't know too many people who don't appreciate (at the very least) a park or grass or trees.

I actually love the country and used to live in this small town near the river in WV, and used to ride my bike around the streets safely and could go up in the mountains with my sisters in the summer, and have snow in the winter...and it tends to be what I fantasize about when I'm out West for any extended period of time, I start thinking of villages in northern or central Europe a la Heidi or something...but in truth the place I'm from is kind of similar in terms of being green, forested, snowy, just lacks the European culture.

Which brings me to why I even like living on the West coast. I like nature too much to live in a big city like NY or Chicago, but L.A. has suburbs and beaches, sunshine and palm trees, so I like it too...and the benefit here is that there is access to more people and a variety of cultural aspects missing in a little town...but I also can get sick of how much concrete there is here in comparison, and it is more expensive to live.

I think if I was even upper middle class, I'd have two locations to stay, like a home with a yard in WV, and then a time-share in Santa Monica or something, and I'd be good to go, lol.

When I was in high school I always wanted to live in Vegas and SoCal and here I am, I've also lived in Vegas. In fact it's like I knew when I was 16 what I was going to do in my 20's, vaguely, just not the details.

However, I have ALWAYS wanted to not just go to Europe but stay there for a while. I need to figure out some kind of financial plan where I could at least spend a month in Europe, but my issue is that I want to go to England, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany and Russia. That's a lot of places. Even if I narrow it down to England, France, Germany and Russia that's still four countries, and Russia is further East.

Shocking really that I haven't managed to figure this out yet, but I just need to make it a realistic priority. I know it's something I will do eventually.
