Anyone else have this issue?

Is it an NT thing? Or a careless INTP, sensotard thing?

I can remember and notice things pretty easily, i know few people change their avatar and change their name. but more often i just keep quiet and keep it all to myself because its non of my business.

I hope this isn't a common problem, else no one will ever remember who I am... Not that many do anyways...

I have probably changed my avatar about 50 times, although I do not expect it to change again.

Unless you're someone I've built a conscious bond with, yeah. It's an N thing, I'd reckon.

After I read about 20-30 posts of the same person, the username alone is enough for me to remember them.

Yeah me too unless they've had it long enough for me to remember their name but I'm sure there are still people who have changed their names that I don't know who they are anymore.

There are maybe 2 or 3 people on the forum that I would know sans-avatar. So no, not just an NT thing.

Whaaaa? I haven't changed mine in almost 2 days!

Why does it matter if you remember me?

Perhaps it's because of visual thinking. Do you think a lot in pictures?
I recognize people mainly because of their avatars too and I think a lot in pictures. If someone changes his avatar I've to remember them again.

I don't feel as though I think a lot in pictures; I am, however, a visual learner. I think it's partly because I'll remember the "feel" of a person by their avatar much better than I would by their name. If I see people's posts consistently, I'll eventually learn their usernames, but their avatar is what really seals the deal for me. I don't think I'd get the same feel out of Magic Poriferan's posts if the giant bubbly-demon avatar thing were to go away.

If you change your avatar, I'll notice but I don't make a big deal out of it. Name changes are more likely to confuse me.

I change my avatar frequently- every few weeks or so and I don't think anyone has had a problem identifying me.

Yeah, me, too...I don't care if you change your avatar, as long as I recognize your name. Name changes make me nuts if there's no consistency with the avatar/signature to connect me to the old name.

Ha...you, too? I always look at it wondering if it's going to inhale too deeply one day and explode.

I will admit that it can throw me. I get more upset if I really liked the avatar and didn't want the person to change it.

Blank draws blank.

I don't associate people mainly with their avatar; that can be very inefficient. Even if I did, I'm good at remembering images.

I keep an afro'ed lady theme for my avatars for just such a problem. You're welcome.
