I also gathered some together from existing threads (to prove the "INTPs have Fi > Fe hypothesis") I'll dig them out.

I also gathered some together from existing threads (to prove the "INTPs have Fi not Fe hypothesis") I'll dig them out.

Yeah, I've actually talked about this specific phenomenon in another thread.

For some types (INTJs) you're tending to see their supposed tertiary and inferior functions around spots 3-4, but, in others, you're tending to see them more around 7-8.

Obviously, in your case, they come in at 6th and 8th (though, considering the small disparity between your 5th-7th functions, the placement of your Si could easily be within the margin of error of actually being your 7th).

I would ascribe this difference just to the individual's involved, but you do start seeing it, on average, and for the most part, across the types as a whole.

That fact would seem to make it a type-based phenomenon...

I didn't expect my Fe to be high, but that's a bit lower than I anticipated.

It's almost universally true (assuming these tests measure what they purport to measure) that INTPs have more access to Fi than Fe. I.e. the data provides stronger support for Lenore Thomson's model than Beebe's/Beren's.

Ummm... I mention it here.

I feel like I've talked about it in a number of threads as well, but I'm not quite sure which ones...

I.e. the data provides stronger support for Lenore Thomson's model than Beebe's/Beren's.

Well, maybe for the INTPs, but not for the INTJs.

For the INTJs, Beebe's/Beren's seems to be working out better...

At least with regards to Fi and Fe; with regards to Se, it's a bit more of a crap shoot...

I don't think I'm much different..just the other way around (more "access" to Ti than Fe). In a way, I'm starting to see Si and Ti as part of some block of critical behavior I engage in.

Some of those questions were worded a bit strangely, though. I'm not sure I would come to any major conclusions based upon this test alone.

My Fi came out higher on this test, and I do believe that I have decent use of Fi, more so in real life than here, but it's not anything like the Fi I see in NFPs. I don't see the world according to my values, or right/wrong, in most situations. Fe makes a lot more logical sense to me, and is kind of comforting to me as a sometimes socially clueless Ti-dom. But I'm not about to play hostess throughout my life, like one of those questions implied. Nor am I trying to become one with all people I meet. I'm pretty much, "you do your thing, and I'll do mine, and let's try not to bother each other too much."

My Fi comes out higher in other tests (always 3rd or 4th). The others results I posted from other INTPs were from a couple of different CF tests.

Your Fi wouldn't look like ENFP Fi. It's tempered by Ti.

It's hard not to recognize what processes the questions refer to, and I've seen some pretty similar tests to this, and the thing that annoys me the most are some of the Ni questions. They make Ni sound like some kind of magic, and I think you'd have to be a flake to actually respond strongly to them.

You should see the old cognitive functions test.. Nardi toned it down to be more abstract. Before, there were Ni questions referring to trinkets and talismans (or something along those lines). I've seen brief hints of that before in other authors too. Like Thomson talks a bit about it - and she's an INTJ herself.

Here you go: http://www.cognitiveprocesses.com/assessment/develop_old.html

"rely on a focal device or symbolic action to predict, enlighten or transform"

I was kind of overstating it. I think it's up to the reader to intepret this stuff, and take what they want out of it. It doesn't need to be mystical necessarily, but I think it can be. I wrote to him not long ago and asked to revive that test. I think the specifics are more helpful, but he said people had complaints.

Summary Analysis of Profile
By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: INTP

Lead (Dominant) Process
Introverted Thinking (Ti): Gaining leverage (influence) using a framework. Detaching to study a situation from different angles and fit it to a theory, framework or principle. Checking for accuracy. Using leverage to solve the problem.

Support (Auxilliary) Process
Extraverted Intuiting (Ne): Exploring the emerging patterns. Wondering about patterns of interaction across various situations. Checking what hypotheses and meanings fit best. Trusting what emerges as you shift a situation’s dynamics.

If these cognitive processes don't fit well then consider these types: ENTP, or INFJ

If these results are different from what you know of yourself, you might consider why your developmental pattern does not align with your expectation. You might also consider exploring this result as a possible better fit.

The Four Temperaments
Corresponding best-fit temperaments based on your profile: Theorist; secondly Catalyst; then Stabilizer; and lastly, Improviser.

In order:
Ti (48) excellent use
Ne (43.9) excellent use
Ni (43.1) excellent use
Fe (27.9) average use
Te (25.6) average use
Si (21.4) limited use
Fi (20.3) limited use
Se (10.4) unused
