Sure, no problem. Just making sure, that's all. :)

Honestly, I'm not an INTP hater. I was only kidding. You and Xander are two of my favourite people here :)

Ermm, well, thank you. I am humbled.

Oh, they are independent alright... independent of reality

Oh, I slay me.

But I'll give you that. INTPs are smart, least by their own measures.

This is some funny business you are up to, mr. INTJ.

There. Fixed.

Jennifer... as if I was thinking that! I was actually thinking... well no, what I was actually thinking is not appropriate to write here, it'd just derail the thread. Could tell you in PM though - let me know if you wanna know.

oh, of course I love entertaining your thoughts in private PM (tee hee)...! Surprise me.

Yup, I'm in a mood...

There are some things you can't see when you are right in the thick of all the hustle and bustle(that goes out to you, ENTPs :whistling:).

Just like an INTP to hide the dig in a whole bustle of words to poke an ENTP. :D I swear, they get a perverse glee out of taking a dig at an ENTP, just to watch us flounce and blubber.

Only an ENTP would be demented or ballsy enough to flounce on into an INTP appreciation thread and deign to bombard us with this sort of inane claptrap.

*clap clap clap*
Do another trick! I want to see the monkey do another trick!
*clap clap clap*

See. Case in point.

:rofl1:

But frequently they're so obvious about it, and they're so disappointed if you don't walk into their traps, that you do it anyway just to see them smile. :)D I mean, c'mon guys, there's so little joy in their lives. I've never met a type harder on themselves than an INTP. )

So that's the first thing I like about INTPs. :D They're straightforward. Guileless if you wish, while they mosey along their Ti lines? Usually they don't realise the reaction from other people till it hits them like a safe from 50 feet.

And then, they'll look up and go  but *meh* "why? The safe shouldn't be here, and more importantly, how'd it drop from 50 feet out of nowhere." While you're practically bouncing on their heads that "that's not the point!". To which they'd go, "why are you reacting like that, think!" :rofl1:

:D

They like to think they can be manipulative and be all political and gamester, but I've found that this is only in their minds. IRL they're easier to read vs all the other types. So that's the thing I like most about INTPs. WYSIWYG. You could always count on one to be brutally honest. I'd trust one as long as I knew what it :whistling: was thinking.

When the INTP nation is formed, you guys had better make me ambassador general. It appears to be your only hope.

It won't form. They'd firstly doubt the possibility of it, then they'd doubt they could do it, then they'd doubt their leaders, and they'd doubt themselves as followers. It'd probably last as long as a breatharian?

edit - and I don't flounce!!

But. I do.

They've a wry sense of humour. They won't go weepy-drippy on you. You can e.g. have a dry conversation on the best way to cook and eat a baby and wonder what it tastes like, without having moralists who miss the joke stamping in horror on it.

They've frequently a good vocab that I do not have to stop to explain what my words meant. I may have to explain what I meant though. :D

They're loyal. Despite all their self-doubts, once they trust you, they're loyal and will prod you when they think you need it.

They've nice flashes of whimsy.

They may not say they love you, but I think they do.

To paraphrase Lilo and Stitch, "(INTPs) are little, and broken, but still good. Yeah, still good."

Correct me, but didn't we deign to create an MBTI forum for the rest of you unwashed knuckledraggers, like unto Adam's gift of a rib?

But is it not the INTP's fault that INTP central sucked in the first place?

So in addition to creating this forum for you (you're welcome)

But alas, Oh humble one, was it not the romantic NFs who created the system in the first place?! :pornstar:

None the less, I love INTPs' sharp imagination.

Consider all the technological devices you have that you love. Somewhere in the process of these things coming into being, I'm sure some brilliant INTP was involved.

Well... no. A collaboration of INTJs and ISTPs could whip that up.
Extraverts aren't completely devoid of ingenuity by the way.
It could have been an ENTP.

Not to piss on anybody's chips, but the good points people are bringing up about INTP's seem to tend to rely on the INTP in question also being highly intelligent. And I know that not all INTP's are highly intelligent. When one is, it's great... sometimes.... but they're not all geniuses.

What good points do they potentially have by definition of their type, that don't rely on them having high IQ's?

You have a point...
One such good point could be that they do not bother giving someone negative feedback, unless when they are asked for it.
Independence may be another one.

To which system do you refer? The theoretical meat of MBTI comes from Jung, an INTP.

If you ask for, then you might be really asking for it, though. When an INTP has a brick to throw at you, they don't tend to wrap it up in cushioning or bubble wrap, they pretty much just throw it at you.

Okay, I'll go with that one.

But wasn't that mostly because they didn't want the other types on INTPc?

Yah, the problem is they won't give feedback (whether it be positive, negative or neutral) at all voluntarily!!!!:BangHead:

Oh yeah, sorry, this is positive stuff:

Love the irreverence, the quirky sense of humor, the circuitous thought process

Love the depth of knowledge in a topic they're interested in

Love the social awkwardness, the nervousness, the attempts with the selective few they find deserving

INTPs are awesome.

This is fact.

The best MBTI type by a magnitude of 10 at the minimum.

But sometimes INTPs forget this. They get caught up in dealings with their inferiors: non-INTPs of lesser intelligence, dealings with icky feelings or whatnot.

So in addition to creating this forum for you (you're welcome), what other ways do you appreciate the greatest of MBTI types, the INTP?
I do not know.
I ask my helper in the truck.

I don't know any IRL, but I like what they do over at INTPc. Seriously, that's a fun forum to watch. I've LOL'ed too many times reading posts there, and I don't mean this condenscendingly. Great sense of humor!
