I actually think a lot of today's counselors and therapies try to make people extroverted, I don't know why really. Maybe it has something to do with some old American fear of the "quiet person" if you know what I mean.

Yes I've seen those introvert = loser ads.
They're usually around the personality descriptions or tests section of a typology website.
They are attempting to appeal to shy, insecure individuals who think introversion = inherent shyness or poor social skills.

If you are a regular user of MBTI descriptions and structures, you'd understand introversion is only an orientation to the world and each peson has various forms of introverted and extroverted orientations
