i can think of several major universities that would disagree.

i just joined from INTPc, so i'm not too familiar with the atmosphere here. i can say that it's a lot warmer, more dynamic, less tense, but that might just be the color scheme. i'm liking it so far in whatever case.

I think I hang around the non-NT subforums more than the Rationale. INTPc was too... blah. I like being around other types. They add colour. INTPc makes me think of a dank, monochromatic dungeon. Just goes to show what happens when you stick a bunch of INTPs together. We're like salt; our company tastes better when added as a complement, but alone we're a disaster on the social palate.

I hear main pro of INTPc is for the people of that type to post whatever they want, without the need to self-edit for the less sensitive. I don't find that here? I actually think this forum is a lot more lenient than other forums I've been on. But then again, the main forum I go on is heavily INF-dominated. Over here, I feel like I've loosened my belt slightly.
    Um, yeah.

If I wanted to be around loads of INTPs, I'd frequent /b/.

The herd mentality I've seen in my brief encounters at INTPc is horrible. Some threads appear to consist of nothing other than one person giving an opinion, and then every other subsequent in the thread is made in some attempt to validate that opinion. INTJf seems to have the nice effect of people being dedicated to ripping shitty ideas apart in a concise manner.
If a deaf INFP falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

I can't speak to INTPc because I've never been on it. However, there is an INTJ Forum that I got links to from several Google searches. I ultimately joined and spent a little time over there. The thing is with a site like that - it's too narrow and didn't keep my interest. For me, spending too much time on a site with a majority of people being one type is just a bit much. The dynamic of a forum that includes all types, the incredible diversity of perspective - that's what's interesting and I think it provides for a much richer dialogue. I also like to see the interaction between different types. It is a little like being in a world with people who have their type stamped on their forehead and seeing how things play out.

It was changing the nature of the dialogue and the style of conversation, as well as choking some of the conversations INTPs wanted to have.

The trouble is that the NF's still liked INTPc no matter how they were abused on the forum.

Things got pretty ugly in Spring 2007. There was almost an entire forum meltdown and the topic consumed forum energy for a month or two.

A few of us volunteered to staff TypeC (at the time, known as MBTIc), as part of encouraging non-INTPs to move to a new site with many of the same people, where they would no longer conflict with the needs of the INTPs over at INTPc. We got a lot of members from there to move over here to seed THIS site.

Well, look at it this way: If you owned a forum and saw it potentially collapsing due to unmanageable interpersonal tension, you'd take steps to ensure that didn't happen.

    Among other potential reasons.

    Such an angel he is.
Oh, I wouldn't go that far.
