    GREGORY HOUSE.

I had to be obnoxious about it because that's how great he is.

Oh and the reasoning behind it?
Watch him for ten minutes and you have enough reasons.

I'd have to say The Judge from Blood Meridian. Not because he's a likable character-- he's the personification of pure evil-- but because like many of Cormac McCarthy's characters, the lines between good and evil are blurred. He's an interesting character study, to be sure.

I thought this would be such a generic answer, but nobody yet has said The Joker.

I always more intrigued by the bad guys: Iago, Angelus, Randall Flagg, Hans Gruber, the aforementioned Judge, but the Joker is the king. As you can tell, I love it when the character becomes something almost non-human while retaining some believability. A full on dedication to what they do, even at the cost of personal harm, in the same vein we expect from the best heroes.

    Easy: Howard Roark.

I so wish I was him, or anything like him.

    Spike is the man.
Weathergirl: District 38 is sunny. Slight rock showers this morning. Chance of rock showers into the afternoon—20 percent. District 39 is cloudy. Chance of rock showers this afternoon—10 percent.
Edward: Bebop here here! Alright woo hoo!
Weathergirl: Chance of rock showers today upgraded to 90 percent.
    Edward: Really.
