I'd go up to random people of interest and chat them up, maybe make some new friends.

    Don't small talk, simple.

If you small talk, you'll give others the opportunity to do the same.

If you're honest and speak your mind, you'll give others the opportunity to do the same.

Boredom, small talk, hmm... why you be at the bar in the first place?

I don't believe that "for the hell of it," or whatever because people can do that at home, or at a friends house.

    Conversation beats games any day.

Word. Both at the same time is best, but if it were one or the other I choose the former.

    Networking, mostly.

You know how well Ne-fueled speech usually goes over around ESxJs and xSFPs.

I take it that your networking isn't very successful, then?

It's fine, if boring and draining. Older lawyers and judges - awesome. Fellow students and younger lawyers - not really catching on, so to speak.
