So you're indifferent and you've got nothing to lose. You want to care but you can't.

Why not start a journey? You know, just grab some things, and start walking for weeks or months or whatever. You might very well find something that will change your opinion. It doesn't matter where you live or what you do. Forget everything, set yourself a goal and go. Even if you don't succeed (= the outcome won't change your worldview), I think it's a unique and doable plan.

That is a very nice idea. It sounds almost tempting.
And thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences, from those who understand what I'm trying to say to those who can't relate.

I would recommend reading the Tao Te Ching. It speaks about emptiness, and not in the context that is espoused in popular culture...
