I find Astrology amusing, I respect other peoples beliefs regarding it though. I meddle about in Astrology for no real reason. It's like opening a present. "What will it give me this time?".

I don't see any practical and useful real use in it and I never will, however.

I'm not trying to convince him, I'm simpy saying it's a complex system.

There is a thread on the philosophy section which I posted a good few posts of how the mecanics work

The ones I think about the most are:

    - meteorology/weather/climatology: huge, extreme number of variables and cross-interactions, I prefer to focus on microclimates to isolate the chains of causation
    - finance/economics/accounting: how they influence everyday life interactions, arbitrage opportunities in material markets
    - geography/mountain ranges: connected to the first system, I like to build a network of roads in my head, to know how to reach every place in the fastest possible way
    - computer languages: self explanatory
    - MBTI/socionics: self explanatory
    - languages/written word

The best systems are those that can be applied to the real world. Err, well, I suppose that's what systems are for.

    Economics
Game theory (mathematical, helps me understand economics)
Behavioral economics (because not everyone is rational)
    MBTI
Science, especially the relatively abstract physics. I happen to dislike the intricacies of chemistry and biology.

Of course, there are a few systems I look at for fun. These systems are part of a game.

    Real-time strategy games
    Chess
Magic: The Gathering (it's fun to look at the interaction of cards)

I suppose 'out of the box' compression methods of binary and hexadecimal language is something I've studied more than any other system. In the last two years of high school we all got an assignment that involves a project you got two years for to complete and had to be big and to do with the direction you chose. And this was my chosen project.

    NLP, neuro linguistic programming

I do not "know" if NLP works but like "social dynamics" and "seduction strategy" one often finds that any system is often better than no system.

Thus I am less concerned with "proof a system works" and more concerned with "outcomes".

Reliable processes that bring for positive outcomes often more favored than substantive truths. Be your outcome rewards come in the form of dirivative, collateral or coincidental gains.

Game is, in general better than No Game.

They say if it works don't fix it.

I say if it works incorporate from the system what works for your benefit.

Symbols and Semiots would probably engage you for a while.... they can be intersting.

Another (slightly cookier one) would be runin stones (really an extenstion on the symbols). Did you know the CND symbol is actually a rune symbol. Runes aren't predictive they more sit in the space of orricle.

I - chung - sits in the oricle space too.

None of these are very blokie....

    Oh and

Visual literacy - it's more interesting than it sounds

Perhaps an old langue - like Old English (although I'm not sure that counts as a system).

Etymology would be interesting and probably a never ending subject
