    Default Poetry for NTs?

    I don't care for most poetry. So much of it seems useless and overdone. But sometimes I'll find something intriguing that just tumbles around in my mind over and over again.

    Can anyone recommend some NT-friendly poetry or poets? I think I just need to be aimed in the right direction.

    (I don't care about the personality type of the poet ... only about the work's appeal to NTs)

    square root of Pi ?

    It's like a hiting a wall after a nice, smooth, harmonious curve. Over, and over again.
    Expression of the post modern paradox : "For the love of god, religions are so full of shit"

    Theory is always superseded by Fact...
    ... In theory.

    “I’d hate to die twice. It’s so boring.”
    Richard Feynman's last recorded words

    "Great is the human who has not lost his childlike heart."

    Sorry I dont know any poets or NT related poems but heres one from the top of my head.

    The world, it is a wondrous place
    But then we see the human race
    The stupidity it makes me cry
    Intellect fades away and dies
    The few last people who remain
    Are looked down upon in shame

    Did i mention the whole picture is falling of stairs yet there's no sense gravity, neither true up nor real down.

    confusing shit to say the least.

    I left a comment on your wall BlahBlahNounBlah. Again I suggest Praying Drunk by Andrew Hudgins --one of my faves.

    Math Limericks are clearly for the NT

    Integral z-squared dz
    from 1 to the cube root of 3
    times the cosine
    of three pi over 9
    equals log of the cube root of 'e'.

    If M's a complete metric space
    we know that it must be the case
    that under the action
    of a contraction
    precisely one point stays in place.

    I think Dorothy Parker might be a good recommendation for NTs. Her poetry is well-structured, dark, and witty as hell. A few of my favorites by her:

    Bohemia

    Authors and actors and artists and such
    Never know nothing, and never know much.
    Sculptors and singers and those of their kidney
    Tell their affairs from Seattle to Sydney.
    Playwrights and poets and such horses' necks
    Start off from anywhere, end up at sex.
    Diarists, critics, and similar roe
    Never say nothing, and never say no.
    People Who Do Things exceed my endurance;
    God, for a man that solicits insurance!

    Comment

    Oh, life is a glorious cycle of song,
    A medley of extemporanea;
    And love is a thing that can never go wrong,
    And I am Marie of Roumania.

    Thought for a Sunshiny Morning

    It costs me never a stab nor squirm
    To tread by chance upon a worm.
    "Aha, my little dear," I say,
    "Your clan will pay me back one day."

    Resume

    Razors pain you;
    Rivers are damp;
    Acids stain you;
    And drugs cause cramp.
    Guns aren't lawful;
    Nooses give;
    Gas smells awful;
    You might as well live.

    William Blake, Sylvia Plath and T. S. Eliot are all amazing, too, but really, taste in poetry is an extremely individual thing. I may very well be completely off the mark with these recommendations.
