As if Fs don't purposely provoke strong emotional reactions??? :rolli:

When interacting with particular Fs, *I* am the one making an effort to avoid disputes ... not the other way around.

Generally I don't think Fs do it on purpose most of the time. What they are provoking is more a reaction to their strong reaction. They are too involved in what is going on to do it just to watch what the other person does.

I think when they do, it is out of extreme frustration when they can't get the information from the T they are interacting with to be able to resolve what's bothering them. They don't know what the T is thinking and the only way they can figure out to find that out after other failed attempts is to elicit some kind of a response (in hopes that the truth will come out), even if it is negative.

I'm not defending immature Fs either. I'd just like to understand the NT thing. Sometimes even on the forums here, I will see an NT throw something in that they know is going to make the other types angry. Is this a quicker way of them getting to the heart of the issue that they want to know about or is it just entertainment?

Socially and personally, I don't find myself so much cold as oblivious. I'm not really proud of that, though I'm not overly fussed about it either. I make an effort to expand my awareness, and if I care about someone I advise her on how best to catch my attention. If she feels it shouldn't be her job to tell me what she needs (as I have experienced), well, she reaps what she sows.

On that note, I do disregard the solipsism of making judgments based solely on one's own perspective. I wouldn't call that so much a problem with feeling, though, as of a lack of insight. We're human, so emotions are a valid consideration; they're just not the only consideration.

Oblivious is much more forgivable, than straight out cold and uncaring.
Aderack, my NT friend had much the same stance as you did. I just hated seeing him get beat up (as did all our circle of friends) mainly because it's not fun sitting in A and E every saturday night. Had we been in a more "cultured" city, it may have been different, after all he was just persuing intellectual curiosity....but it was more like a country town which was dominated by Ag students, rugger buggers and the army. (Any kiwi's, can you guess where I went to uni from that description?)
That said, I find most NT's much more personable in real life than over the internet. I have a soft spot for them. I get much more offended here, then I do in real life.
Currently submerged under an avalanche of books and paper work. I may come back up for air from time to time.
Real life awaits and she is a demanding mistress.

This is a reasonable inquiry, Valuable Money so get on with answering the question. I wasn't the one that called you an a**hole.
