Yeah I know, he wants to be an INTP so badly, or perhaps he is so bad at being an ENTP his on kind won't accept him.

Costrin rejects the notion of wanting to be any particular type. For Costrin knows only thus: Costrin is Costrin.

Doot.

What is Costrin like offline? I think that would settle this.

I don't really think I want to settle it though. I'm intrigued.

So if Costrin is Costrin, then who was Costrin when Costrin was Costrin.

Costrin says with confidence that Costrin is not Costrin when offline. Costrin is purely an artificial construct to suit the purposes of Costrin's creator.

Don't get ahead of yourself

What is the difference between a humanistic, monastic system of belief in which wisdom is sought by means of an apparently nonsensical system of questions and answers, and a lot of mystic gibberish made up on the spur of the moment?

The answer: A fish.

Good answer. Bad question.

If anyone can make a plausible argument for this man being an INTJ, I'd love to hear it:

And that wasn't sarcasm. I really would love to hear it.

^^^ I'd still like someone to explain how he could be an INTJ. Please?

My question got buried under pounds of mayhem. :puppy_dog_eyes:

If you can get an INTJ to open up, all sorts of uniquley amusing insights flow out. Through practice, he's learned how to let out what he thinks about and how he views the world. Most INTJs only do this around people they are close to. Because people want to know what's on his mind, he's grown comfortable with letting it flow.

His play on "I HATE YOU" is an example of recognizing patterns and seeing possibilities. We do this with everything. He can deliver it so deadpan because it makes sense to him.

How is his manner of doing this different from the xNTP manner of doing this?

He seems to be using Ne+Ti to me. Ni+Te can mimic this, with practice?

I remember him talking about his need of feedback in interviews. I always assumed Ni+Te didn't need feedback. Could he have learned to mimic Ne+Ti, using feedback?

I'm pretty sure I'm an ENTP, but could I actually be an INTJ? My manner of exploring external data seems similar to his. I come to many of the same conclusions as my INTJ friends.

What would be the absolutely undeniable clue that a person is one and not the other?

Hair. Over time.

Like, that Demetri Martin, he's got the over-achieving thing and the desire to make the meaning of everything be what he says it is, like he knows when people are supposed to laugh and they just haven't got their instructions right, but he's got hair and he's nice. INTP.

Also, he said "Thanks guys". He very nearly even said "Aw, thanks guys." And he sounded like he meant it. That's a hand-in-your-J card moment if you can't make it sarcastic. Which he didn't.

But I do get a very serious INTJ "trying to be nice, ending up lame, hates self" vibe off him. So... INTP.
