Indeed. That's like Mozart saying, "What, music lessons? What nonsense. You just sit down and you play. It will come to you."

You're not missing much. It's the same old conversations about type... do you really need to read more whining?

I post on the Bungie forums. Compared to there, this place is completely stoic.

this is nowhere complete but...

Since INTPs are described as analogous as the professor...

from the Art of Seduction

The Professor - These types cannot get out of the trap of analyzing and criticizing everything that crosses their path. Their minds are overdeveloped and overstimulated. Even when they talk about love or sex, it is with great thought and analysis. Having developed their minds at the expense of their bodies, many of them feel physically inferior and compensate by lording their mental superiority with others. Their conversation if often wry or ironic - you never quite know what they are saying, but you sense them looking down on you. They would like to escape their mental prisons, they would like pure physicality, without any analysis, but they cannot get there on their own. Professor types sometimes engage in relationships with other professor types, or with people they can treat as inferiors. But deep down they long to be overwhelmed by someone with physical presence - a Rake or a Siren, for instance.

Professors can make excellent victims, for underneath their intellectual strength lie gnawing insecurities. Make them feel like Don Juans or Sirens, to even the slightest degree, and they are your slaves. Many of them have a masochistic streak that will come out once you stir their dormant senses. You are offering an escape from the mind, so make it as complete as possible: if you have intellectual tendencies yourself, hide them. They will only stir your target's competitive juices and get their minds turning. Let your Professors keep their sense of mental superiority; let them judge you. You will know what they will try to hide: that you are the one in control, for you are giving them what no one else can give them - physical stimulation.

There are 10 archetypes of seducers and 18 archetypes of victims. Interesting read.

Wow...I'd say a good amount of that is pretty accurate. I tend to look for escape in a lot of my physical activity, sex being one of them. Thanks for the link.

I love INTPs. I wouldn't seduce one, though. The fun is all about watching them try to seduce you. Tragic.

ENFP's trying really hard to seduce an INTP.

That is cute.

INTP trying to seduce an ENFP?

That's a miracle. :D

Shhh, dont tell anyone-but we're kinda easy.... :)

Anyways we like ackward attempts at seduction. It brings out our nurturing side. We'll take care of ya, just cause you're cute and look a little scruffy round the edges....

Gah, but that's no fun. I'd rather you be bowled over by my unfathomable awesome instead of getting attention because you feel bad about our uselessness in the "seduction" arena.

My point was that INTP's generally don't seduce in the way an ENFP would. Instead of having the intention of seducing, we're just ourselves.. :p

I've used pick up lines to start conversation, but I've never attempted to seduce a stranger. I have no need to do that.

We already knew that. That's why we put the sure-thing ENFP on the back burner and take a run at the NFJs.

I wish you the best of luck in storming those castles...However I think the entps are beating you to the punch so run quickly before they are all gone....NFJs are in short supply you know..

We'll be here waiting, adoring the endless clever sarcasm, inverted clothing items, shaggy hair, and lack of organization when you return.

Hmm, there could be some truth there, especially for younger INTPs. More mature ones, not so much.

I thought it was horribly manipulative.

I guess all seduction is manipulation though...

Yeah, it seems pretty much off-target. The way you impress me is to show me you're at least as astute as I, preferably more so. You pick up on what I'm saying and you add to it or distill it and make it better. You offer observations I'd not have made. You demonstrate a profound erudition weighed by a well-defined personal character. You make me feel like being around you improves me, makes me more capable, in the areas that I care about. You don't make me nervous or raise questions about sincerity by focusing too much on physicality. Though the masochistic thing is true enough...

This is pretty impossible to fake, which is probably why seduction is so difficult.
