It's one of my all time favorite movies. The book is great too.

Oh yay, another fan of the movie!! Obviously I like the storyline, but I also thought the casting and cinematography were great, and I adore the musical score.

I haven't read the book yet, although a friend recommended it.

I saw it first at the theatre and it was an experience not a movie. Larger than life and beautiful just from the scenery alone. Then as you say excellent casting, acting and music and a unique storyline. Not too many movies like that now.

Pirates of the Caribbean! :D Haha gotta love Cap'n Jack Sparrow :duel:

I like Troy too (ok ok so shoot me), I think the story line is (for the most part) realistic, though it has some flaws in logic [which i can't stand in movies].
But I like the whole Ancient Greek setting oooh i think it appeals to the 'imaginative'/fairytale side of my ENFPness. Heh.

I think I like realistic fairytales. Thats not meant to be an oxymoron. What I mean is, I like unusual, slightly outlandish settings which can really transport me and stir my imagination, but the plot must be realistic/logical (at least in the time period in which the movie/show is set).

(ok i'll shut up now.)

My favorite television show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. My husband and I actually run the Whedon Universe Track at Dragon Con ( the largest scfi convention in the southeast ). Dragon Con takes place every Labor Day weekend in Atlanta Georgia. If you love Scfi check it out Welcome to Dragon*Con! - Welcome to Dragon*Con! and Whedon Track at Dragon*Con 2007.

I also love on tv Firefly,Angel, Supernatural, Dead Like Me, Dr. Who, Torchwood, Criminal Minds, NCIS, Weeds, the BBC's Robin Hood, How I Met Your Mother, The Office, and Life.

Reality shows: I hate American Idol and Survivor. I watch Ghost Hunters, and The Amazing Race.

I really love television.

Favorite movies are Serenity, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Cruel Intentions, All the Harry Potter movies, Gladiator, Chasing Amy, The Skeleton Key, H.G Well's Time Machine (the classic version not the new one), Poltergist and a million others I can't think of right now.

My favorite movie as a kid was always The Wizard of Oz.

Plus, when I can be bothered watching them, a couple of Australian comedy shows that not everyone on this forum may be familiar with- The Chaser's War On Everything and Thank God You're Here. Oh wait, that last one is in like every country now. Never mind..

Err I don't watch a lot of TV regularly.. though when I do, I tend to stick with the History/Discovery channels, or SciFi networks.. or the horror movie network. I like watching a lot of documentaries on conspiracy theories, past, present, etc.

It's Always Sunny in Philadephia is fairly ridiculous. I like it. :rolli:

As for movies.. too many to count, so I'll bring up whichever come to mind..
Amelie..
A Clockwork Orange,
Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?
The Birds,
Psycho,
Rear Window,
Legend,
Drop Dead Fred,
Honey I Shrunk The Kids,
Trainspotting,
The Shining,
Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind,
You, Me, & Everyone We Know,
The Shawshank Redemption,
Breakfast At Tiffany's,
Big Fish,
Casablanca,
The Big Sleep,
The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy,

Harrison Bergeron,

C'est arrivé près de chez vous (also known as: Man Bites Dog)

...that list could go on for awhile.. I'm probably missing some..

Just a few... I know I'll leave stuff out.

Movies:

Mad Max --- I love the Goose! The cars too. Me-yow.
Blade Runner --- I never fail to cry when Roy dies.
Black Rain --- More ambient Ridley Scott and one of the best villains.
Support Your Local Sheriff - more hysterical one liners than you can shake a stick at.
Baby Face -- film noir, Barbara Stanwyck is one of my favorites
The Narrow Margin -- more 50's film noir, this time with hoods on a train
Jamaica Inn -- 30s Hitchcock, very sexy and brutal, land pirates in Cornwall
Pee Wee's Big Adventure -- "Tell 'em Large Marge sent ya!"
Mrs. Brown -- Queen Victoria and John, her Scottish cavalier.
Top Gun -- for all the wrong reasons. Very very wrong reasons.
The Breakfast Club -- even better if you were there when it happened.
The Sons of Katie Elder -- I love John Wayne.
Terminator -- Michael Biehn, you're yummy. That's right. I said it.
Midnight -- Claudette Colbert and Don Ameche are so tasty together

Books:

Wuthering Heights -- my favorite.
Jane Eyre -- Jane is marvelous.
The Problem of Pain -- C. S. Lewis takes an INTJ running stab at why humans suffer and does a remarkable job of it.
The Haystack in the Floods -- not a book, but rather an old narrative poem that never fails to move me
Beowulf -- Seamus Heaney's rendering is very powerful
