Has capitalism lived up to its glorious promises?

    No, it hasn't.

There really isn't much of a link between socialist/capitalist ideas and typology: INTJs argue both sides, as do INTPs, and so on.

That said, I do see parallels between the philosophies and the types, that Fe is concerned about the value of people, not things, and Te is concerned about the value of things, not people. Individual people, however, are much more complicated than type, and their conclusions are more based on what they've learned and understood than on the "thinking patterns" of Te or Fe.
An argument is two people sharing their ignorance.

A discussion is two people sharing their understanding, even when they disagree.

I'm not a socialist...I'm also business major. I don't have a problem with success I have a problem with excess at the expense of other people. I also don't think about it in terms of wide spread responsibility like government ect. For me it's more of a personal/local social responsibility. I don't think people who wan't alot of money are selfish it just not something I personally value. Money is necessary and it will award you many advantages but being rich for me is a superficial happiness. I just feel life has so much more to offer me than a fat wallet. Connecting with people, making a diffidence in someones life, leaving the earth a better place than it was when you came into it is just more important to me. I value money as a sense of security for myself my family and I hope I make enough of it in my lifetime to be able to live comfortably, retire and have some left over to pass down to my children so that they can do the same. In that sense I'm comfortable with earning my keep and I feel other should have to work to be afforded that luxury. By the same token I'll do what I can to help people who cannot afford the basics when I feel have more than I need.

I just don't like the idea of 1 personsitting on top of 99% of the food supply refusing to share with the starving people below because he/she earned it when they have more than they need and he/she could still live comfortably if they spread some of it around instead of watching them suffer and fight it out while they live it up lol

Shhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! You're blowing it for us NFJ types. We only want you to THINK that we're socialists. Our master plan is to shame everyone (yes, even other NFJs who aren't in on the master plan) by telling them that they are being selfish. We have secretly set up *charities*, *non-profits*, and *government programs* to which all those who buy into our shaming will eventually contribute or donate. Once we have transferred enough of these funds to our tax-free, sheltered, foreign bank accounts, we will begin our other secret plan to take over the WORLD!!!!!!!!!1111111!!!1 Muahhahahahhahahahahaahahahahahahaha!!!!!111!!!!!1 1!!

I think people are too quick to label people who are against unfettered capitalism as socialists. And yes I think putting yourself first at the expense of other people is selfish. That's pretty much the definition of selfish. How can you argue that it's not? What you're really saying is that being selfish is ok. I don't think we should be purely selfish or purely selfless; we need to act in balance with other beings because that's how things work best. And we exist in interdependence, so acting in balance with other beings is in our own best interest. Most people don't understand this concept. Being selfish in a rational way would have to include a measure of "selflessness."

I agree with everything you have said. However, to further support my above argument I'm going to take a detail you mentioned to the extreme (even though I know this is not how you meant it) because I can foresee other people making that mistake:

It would be irrational for someone to be only concerned about things to the exclusion of people, because that person would be a person to care about (assuming the person in question has any sense of self preservation). And we learn how to care about ourselves by observing others and interacting with people; positive interactions tell us how to best preserve ourselves (as exemplified by others showing us proper care for our selves). This is why all people have both a thinking and a feeling function. So it would be incorrect to label someone as a feeler because they value people above things; because this position is really more rational than the alternative. We have to look at finer distinctions and degrees of caring, and methods of expression. In short, if someone says "I value things above people," they are not being rational in my opinion.

IDK....I come from a very large extended family and the only two far-leftists, are both INFJ (both took the test on my request, and also everyone has always remarked how similar they are).

No-one would every claim MBTI solely determines ideology or even that it's the dominant factor, but I've experienced some correlation.
