I take pride in my independence and competence and if I have to ask for help too much, it takes away from that, and ultimately part of my self-esteem. I like to do as much myself as possible but I've come to learn that there are going to be times when I'm stuck on a problem and that asking for help is okay.

There's a big difference between asking for help and having someone do it for you. If I'm not sure how to do something, I like someone to walk through the process with me so I can do it all on my own next time. The only time I would ask someone to do something for me would be in the case where I was physically unable or really sick. For example, have someone very strong lift a really heavy object or have someone do errands if I fell very ill.

I think that the reason that I commonly ask for help as opposed to most of the NT's here is because I am a core 6w7 and I don't always trust my Ti.

I would put that into categories. Low burden, higher burden

Asking for directions, no problem. Why? Low burden.

Asking for a ride to the airport or to move me from one house to another, No way Why? Burden too high for my taste and the Golden rule. I dont want then asking me.

My ENFJ, oh god, getting him to ask for help, it's like pulling teeth. The only solution I ever found is simply stepping in and doing and giving him zero options. He can't ask for help if I already did it, right? Unfortunately we both suffer from the same shunning of help disease so we are both constantly stepping in and doing for the other. Either that's great teamwork or total denial of our shared issue.
