Don't fill the NFPs heads with such ideas. We don't need the distraction, or the scrutiny.

I was going to make a similar observation. The cooking dialogue would be more like:

Other person: the recipe calls for 3 tbsp of cornstarch
INTJ: that's way too much; 2 should be plenty
Other: now bring to a boil, then stir for 2 minutes
INTJ: we need to stir until it gets thick and the fruit is soft; will probably take longer
Other: Hey - why are there peaches in there? the recipe calls for strawberries
INTJ: I found some nice fresh peaches on sale, and it will work just as well
    (and it nearly always does)

This doesn't mean we're entirely ignorant, of course: in software development, I have to treat any new technology or language very literally for a while - to the point where I'm impatient for the intuition to kick in and show me how to fill in all the blanks.
True. It is like walking around blindfolded while someone tells us "five steps forward, now turn right, etc." Our primary "sense" is inoperable. This is a good illustration of why we are not robots at all.

I want to comment on just how un-INTJ this type of thread is.

I want an ENFJ.... that's the only type I'm willing to fight over. However, I'm pretty sure I'd be going up against Ti-dom there, and even some ExTPs, and so my chances of losing are high. If Jung were alive, I'd ask him to assign Fi-dom another animus; why must we be stuck with Te?

I'd probably prefer an ENTJ to an INTJ though, but I have less real world data to go by. In short: you win ENFPs. Although, this thread increasingly seems like "which type gets stuck with the INTJ", with both xNFP types trying to pawn INTJs off on the other....
Often a star was waiting for you to notice it. A wave rolled toward you out of the distant past, or as you walked under an open window, a violin yielded itself to your hearing. All this was mission. But could you accomplish it? (Rilke)
