What happens when an ENFP reaches their dreams?

I have reached mine, and now I feel like I am sabotaging myself.
I am getting stressed out.
I have nothing else to reach for career-wise. I am also a type 3 so I don't know if that changes anything.

Can anyone else relate?

that's weird....how can you ever reach your dreams? i mean, at least me, i'm quite a perfectionist. but, i don't know, don't you have other interests? the world is so vast and diverse i'm sure there's new challenges for you......change job maybe? go work in a different city? different company? i don't know....

Being an idealist, maybe help more people? Instead of helping 1, try to help 50? If you're already helping 50, start an organization and try to help 700. If you're already helping 700, try to help 14,000, etc, etc, etc.

i'm guessing that's your problem moreso than ENFP. i can't imagine ever "finishing"? there is so much to do...

i would think if you've hit the top career-wise than you've made enough money to not need a career anymore...

if i hit that point i'd probably go build schools in nepal or something.

Well here's more details.
My dream has been to work in the film industry (Ew not porn, perverts).
I went to college that didn't have film school so I had to major in communications which is kind of a general degree. I graduated and worked several jobs that either shut down due to poor economy or the businesses never actually paid me for the work I've done. So please do not tell me that I don't try or have no goals. I tried for years doing restaurant jobs to make ends meet or working in media companies that screwed me over. I paid my dues. Then after loads of prayer, I got an opportunity to work on a movie. And since that day I've been working on a new project and networking like crazy to find the next one. My dream came true. I work on big budget movies. Ones that go to the movie theaters. Ones you've seen. Sure I'd love to direct or act but I don't need that. It's not something that would make me happy. It's just minor details in my big picture.

I feel so blessed to hVe my opportunities. It's seriously out of my hands! I'm like man I'd love to work on that and then I get an offer. I've been working non-stop.

I move. I travel. I go city to city. Pack up and move. So I am getting new situations so my job isn't boring. It's wonderful. But I fear that I'm going to sabotage myself to get back my goals.

And the idea of helping people. I'm
An ENFP. I WANT TO SAVE THE WORLD. I am in constant pain from taking people's problems on myself. I do try and help the people around me as would any of you. It's to the point where my istj thinks it's unhealthy how much I want to help people and make their lives better.

I mean I dunno. Things are great but in worried I will miss having to work so hard for something unattainable. I'm not saying I don't have to work hard to find another movie because believe me I do. It's just that my big picture outlook is gone and that scares me.

So no enfp can relate?? Must be a type 3 problem.

My career has always been my goal. Sure I'm
Not making millions but money has never been my goal.

^ Career is number one for me as well.

But I know there will come a time when I realize that I have gone as far as I can go with my work. I've figured the way I've come to solve this is to branch out--take on a different task on top of my career. Start up some sort of volunteer-non-profit organizational work.. so I can help others, but still be secure in my money and career.

maybe if you're missing the big picture you should take a break from your work?! some holidays to help put it all back in perspective?!

i don't know, i'm actually confused by your post, because on the one hand you say you've reached your dreams, on the other you seem unsatisfied because "you want to save the world"?! ...I have no solution for your instincts to "save the world", i have problems with this myself, but regarding your work i still don't understand how you can feel you've reached your dream...i mean, are you the BEST at what you do? is there no more you can learn in your job? do you have no more challenges to be better, to be more efficient, to learn something new or better? If really you feel stuck maybe you could also change your profession a bit...like, for example, if you're in charge of sound, maybe you'd also like to see what it's like to be assistant director.... mmm, or still, you could still do your specialization but change line of work a bit...for ex in case you're in charge of sound, you could try producing an album....if you're doing lights you could try being a photographer on the side. i don't know, there are SO MANY POSSIBILITIES....are you sure you're not slightly depressed or something?

yup, that's a type 3 thing, only another ENFP who was also 3 could relate to that :D
the only suggestion I can give, now that your job seems to be secure in the career that you love, why not focus on another area of your life like relationships, fitness or taking up a hobby?
Edit: you are a very ENFJ-ish ENFP

Well, it's too easy to have a goal that does not involve a ranking of sorts. I mean, for example if you're a sports player you need to aim to be "the best player in the world", not just "a professional soccer player" etc.

such a goal is economically worthless due to the point of diminishing returns. being a perfectionistic goal setter and only going after 1 goal is sub prime compared to someone who masters 1 goal and next moves to master another one.

Eh, sure, I agree that it might not be economically efficient, yet it might solve the issue of the original poster.

no, it would not lead to any real advancement, thus, being a 3, the original poster would begin to feel anxiety and worthlessness from staying in the same place. I think the best solution would be to branch out try to master one skill at a time and then move on to others. for instance, mastering set work, then mastering lighting, then mastering stage makeup, then mastering acting, then mastering directing, then mastering producing, then mastering licensing movie apparel. if you look at it, this is what all the most famous people do, instead of endlessly perfecting one skill. a skilled soldier is no match for an army.

Really? Examples?

Just wondering. I personally prefer the approach you describe, because I enjoy variety. Yet it seems to me that most famous people become such because they are extremely good at something specific.

Madonna, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Renee Fleming, Will Smith, Angelica Huston, Lex Lang, Mary Elizabeth McGee, Dan Green, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Lil Wayne, P Diddy, Solja Boy (his music is fucking terrible, but he is a brilliant businessman), Frank Sinatra
