I'm a big fan of "Barret's privateers", "the Ryans and the Pittmans" (you know "we'll rant and we'll roar like true newfoundlanders...") .. "Ghosts of cape horn" is one of my favourites too ^^ It's a good evening song to smoke pipe to while rolling on the waves. There are however many I like, most very closely related to or inside the category of irish folk music. Like Dublin O'Shea, Home Boys home, The holy ground and many others ^^

But in order to create a new song i'd be needing alcohol. Sea shanties is not to be done on an empty stomach ^^ I'll try and create one later (it's friday morning here), because i'm drinking tonight ^^

I don't know if I'm poetic, but I do have a taste for the theatrics.

    An INTP
    Very poetic can be
    When motivation or love strikes
    An unusual spectacle
    Or perhaps a specter
    Seen for a fleeting moment
    Was it really there?

    These verses
    Are but fringes
    Of what lies beneath
    Waiting to be seen
    But not seen heard
    But not heard felt
    But also thought

    To ignore
    The expressiveness of poetry
    Is to ignore
    The only camera
Capable of photographing one invisible layer
Of the entire picture of life

    An unconscionable mistake

Thanks for everybody for your posts in this thread!
And thanks for Javo for the INTP poem.

I started to think about this poetic stuff and I remembered how I enjoyed as a child to write poems and stories. I was really keen on writing and thought I would become a journalist when I would grow up. Somehow during the way, I have totally lost my touch in creative writing of any kind. Going through different levels of schoolsystem for 20 years (!) has made me very uncreative.

So there might be a truth in Ne-Fi or Fi-Ne creativity and being poetic.
I have just forgotten how to be creative.

Fi has the most explosive emotional projection
Ne is the furthest reaching and least stuck in place
Fe is arranging everything into a bouquet and you can smell each note singing in chorus
Ni is sneaky and subversive, it cuttles along like a conductor and tazors you where you least expect it, what a delightful grin!
Ti breaks down form and plays with the page with more spontaneity and spunk than any other function (see donald barthelme, vladimir nabokov, etc- i rub my hands together in anticipation of their words, words, words!)
Te is good for installing new energy efficient windows (i kid, i kid)

definitely enfp can catch the flow the easiest and wrap themselves in words and shawls and all that jazz. entp is also pretty good at catching it skate by, but instead is more comic and gleefully mirthful mwahaha.

nfj is bombastic and big-gestured and their insides are shaking with deep bellied laughter and a strange penetrating wisdom that belies their foolishness. a zen crazy missing-teeth mystic hee-heeing all day long on the hill. when you've absorbed every emotion, the only place to go is up up up

infp makes you feel in ways that are not distant and arty but all-too-real, mastery of subjective experience SO REAL, yet enough creativity to encode it tho we all already believe, worn like scars

intp is just devilish and mercilessly creative, tearing apart conventions and knocking you on your ass
