    Default NF professors

To the 4 NF types, is this an appealing career to you guys? Are any of you college professors or did you ever consider it as a profession? Do you have any family members or friends who are NF professors? What subjects do they teach or what subjects would be appealing to you?

I know what the stereotypical answers would be (arts/humanities/languages/soft sciences, etc.), but I'm wondering about "actual examples" rather than hypothetical guesswork.

I think I'd make a good math prof.

I've almost totally decided that there are only two things I want to do when I tire of my future career.. and teaching to add to those future generations is one of things I decided on. College level is all I could possibly tolerate though. Anything below it is too much of a hassle for me.

Teaching appeals to me on some levels but I'm terrified by any form of public speaking, so its never gonna happen.

Besides I love a wide range of subjects, I would struggle to totally specialise.

I agree. High schoolers just aren't serious enough about learning yet.

Funny, I've said the same thing before.

i intend to be a prof at some point.
subjects i would definitely like to teach - psych (both softer topics like personality and harder like neurosci), humanities, religion, writing/language. others i would enjoy - biology, marine bio, intro chem, art theory, music theory, literature, yoga, swimming, quirky divisions of literature. so yes, basically the stereotypical ones, lol, though with a little extra science.

i agree about it being hard to choose a specialty. however, from talking to profs at my college, it always seemed like they were asking professors to extend themselves more and take on some less-related classes. i think you just have to find a college whose philosophy is well-suited to yours

I am silently thinking about it occassionally over the last year. However I am not really sure yet on it. In the past I would never have considered it, but now it seems somewhat more attractive to it. However I might have studied something different if I considered a more teaching position (right now studying Business Informatics; if I would have thought I would get an appropriate job for it, I might have considered studying Philosophy back then actually too).
