I'm in communications. The place where I work is fantastic - my core team is full of NTs. But it's not the type of career where I satisfy my desire to connect with people meaningfully or save the world. That happens in my spare time. :)

i'm a stay at home mom currently, before i was a stay at home mom i worked at a fortune 500 company as a manufacturing specialist, it was the worst job in the world, and i'm glad i quit. In my spare time i'm a mom. My world revolves around my son. I also enjoy crossword puzzles, video games and reading.

If i could choose a career i would want to work in a drug rehabilitation center as some sort of a drug counselor.

Don't look at me for ideas, the work I do is mentally draining, and my hobbies just leave people wondering if I'm an INFP at all.

I'm in high school, but my favourite classes are photography, history, art, and law. I have no idea what I want to do after high school.

In my spare time I play guitar and read. I sometimes draw, too.

I'm currently studying to become a primary school teacher. It's good for the Fi and the Te, but it can be very draining for an introvert.

I'm not sure if I'm just going to stick with this though. Psychology interests me so I may get into this field later on.

I'm almost done with my masters degree in history. I also have some geography courses, some math courses, a basic anthropology course, and a lot of small scattered courses that caught my interest. A also took a one year teacher's course. Working part time as a night receptionist at a hotel atm, but will start teaching teens (secondary/highschool) next year. Dreaming about becoming an author, but will only do it as a hobby until I see if I could live off it.

There's quite a few threads around if you hunt about.. about people's careers and so on...

INFPs seem tailor made for counselling of some sort. Although I know many of them adopt a more "logical/cold" front to hold down a more run of the mill technical job like a lawyer or something.

Hobbies wise.. seem to enjoy nature, reading. More reading. Even more reading. Animals, particularly (but not exclusively) cats.. who seem to appreciate the loner/independence of their owners.

im no infp, but my friends who are do the following:

male, 25 - artist (sculpture, film, painting, basically anything)
male, 27 - given up on uni (soc. anthropology), now working menial job, trying to get into webdesign.
female, 26 - student of art history. seems incredibly content without any specific ambitions.

jack keroac was an infp. beat poet. different approach to life. read "on the road," or anything by him, and it should fiddle your strings a bit (im sure you can find something online...)

best of luck!

I've almost finished up my degree in English. I may pursue teaching, but I would would only consider it if I went to graduate school. I work at a local pizza place as an in store person (serving/bussing/bar tending/the occasional delivery). Pretty much everyone there actively uses or has tried marijuana. It's a very atmospheric place to work at; the employees are fun, friendly people to work with. I like to read, listen to music, play computer games, wander aimlessly, try different types of beer and ski.

I am a Domestic Engineer and Home Economist, lol. I also consider myself an Intuitive Hobbiest.

I like to do so many things for hobbies and as soon as I get good at something I want to try something new- I run the gambit too I like to try every kind of hobby there is!

I guess if I had to be in any proffession other then what I am now I would be a pastry and dessert chef. Cake making and Chocolate sculpting- I am too much of a tempermental artist though so I would either be very rich or very poor, lol.

I'm a paralegal, and mostly I'm in it because it can pay fairly well and is steady work.

I would love to have a career in arts or crafts somewhere, but I've also been told that when you make your spare-time love your career, it loses something in the transition. Plus I'm much too financially insecure to make a living by crafting. I need a steady paycheck.

As to the OP, look into the helping professions, like teaching, counseling, or a health career somewhere.....

I'm an IT help desk rep; internal help desk, no client customers for me :D

My current hobbies include, reading, roleplaying, and hanging out with the crazies I happen to associate with. Sometimes I can be found on WoW, but never on a server that everyone I know wants me on... 3 different groups of friends on 4 totally different servers

I currently work at an animal hospital, but I would definitely not want to do it forever. I'm in school right now, hopefully going into journalism later on.

As for hobbies.. I read quite a bit and I enjoy movies.

i'm currently working in an admin assist., customer service related and accounts payable/receivable position. it's ok but it can be draining, tedious and boring.

for fun i play guitar, sing, listen to all types of music and wish my job wouldn't be so lame so that when i come home i'm tired, uninspired and w/o the desire to work on music.

My sister is an INFP. She loves books and has a Master's Degree in Library Science. She's a Librarian in a school.

To pay the bills, I am a management assistant in the electric/gas construction, so I do everything that our division manager doesn't want to do. :rolli: I organize the majority of departmental projects for 4-operating centers within a 5-county area. I'm around many people each day, so it's very draining for me.

At one point, I was excited about entering our IT dept. (I love computers), and I wanted to get involved in the cutting edge of delivering Internet through electric power lines, however my previous manager "forced" me to handle our division budgeting, so I did that for 2-years (draining and fascinating at the same time).

After 20-years in the corporate world as a single mother (and now an empty nester), I'm ready to give it all up and get married, be a supportive and loving housewife, build me a fantastic garden, write a novel, draw, and read every day. I would also like to make a CD of my favorite hymns with my future husband (excellent tenor - I'm an alto).

Oh, I have a deep desire to counsel and mentor expectant mothers.

If I didn't have these dreams of being a housewife and mentor/counselor... I would like to follow David Bowie to the ends of the earth, and be a groupie (not that kind of groupie, but you know...) :rolli:
