He has a point though.. Maybe an unnecessary one, but one's ability to intuitively draw a conclusion on social patterns is.. only as good as one's research/experience. A young NF could withdraw from people thinking he/she read something to be cautious about, when it might be that they're just not used to the new situation, and drew a conclusion from limited experiences.

At least, this is how Ne would work. Everything I've read speaks of it in terms of tying random patterns together and coming up with a possibility from that. Not psychic behavior.

Quoted this because it really is important to see that it is not magic. It is a skill that needs to be practiced. I've seen people who don't understand that get into ugly places... They just take whatever their issues are and project them freely on everyone, as they "see" so much in other people.

Projection is the enemy number one with this skill...

Totally. I don't even dare act like I know what other people are feeling until I get over whatever internal monologue is going on in my head.

Wait..is this how NFJs and NTPs flirt? :ninja:

If this is flirting their NTP social skills are worse than previously imagined, probably by choice. It's the equivalent of throwing a book or pulling pigtails.

It's still a cowardly trait. Say what you really mean, don't hide behind "witty", snide remarks that do nothing but reveal a tragic misunderstanding of being socially aware and insecurity.

For whatever reason, I love it when girls dare try to roundabout, cowardly insult me to my face. It gets me off...I can't explain it. They have this way about it that is so devilish, snide, that I just want to nail them and show them who is boss....blah

But it's a pretty typical patriarchal/male dominated idea. ..putting women in their place with your sex organ. Chimps are prone to it, too. Bonobos are not and the difference between their societies is amazing.
